Preeti Naidu is a Project Manager at Microsoft India Pvt. Ltd. Before coming to Microsoft India she had worked in various companies and has fifteen years of experience in the industry.
Preeti was born and brought up in Hyderabad. She has completed her schooling from there itself and then graduated as an MBA in HRM. She says she had an amazing childhood growing up there with most of her cousins and friends residing there itself.
After completing her education, Preeti got a job in Hyderabad. Later on, she moved to the US and returned to India after working there for five years. She has worked in various cities of India like Bangalore, Chennai, etc. Frequently moving around has taught Preeti many crucial life lessons and also given her several new friends.
People make mistakes and Preeti is no exception to that. She says that she has made numerous mistakes throughout her life which she considers to be learning opportunities. She shares that one of the biggest mistakes she committed was jumping early on into marriage; given another chance at it Preeti would take more time to make up her mind.
Talking about her challenges, Preeti says that being a single mother is considered a little unorthodox in Indian society. She says that initially she was quite insecure of her situation and would generally hide it fearing judgement. But now, she says, she has become more confident and acceptive of her situation. She is a proud single mother who rejoices being with her nine year old daughter. She says that her family and friends were greatly supportive of her during tough times and continue to remain her support system.
Preeti says that working in Microsoft was her dream which came true. She says that to become a nifty employee you should keep up to date with new developments that are taking place in your field and keep working diligently.
Preeti advises the youngsters to find a mentor who is capable and willing to guide them both professionally and personally. She says that she got a mentor very late in her life which was immensely helpful to her. Thus she says that you should not hesitate asking for help.
Whenever Preeti gets free time, she likes to visit her family and go out with her friends; she also manages to carve out a ‘me time’ for herself. She does yoga everyday to keep her fit and calm.
