Preeti Jain hails from Udaipur and completed her education from here itself. She was passionate about dance from her childhood. She started learning Rajasthani Folk dance in her school time at ‘Shakuntalam’. Thereafter, she started to coach under her teacher’s guidance.
Preeti went on dance tours all over India and used to participate in several cultural activities and programs, consequent of which she was rewarded with many gold medals and certificates. She also got a chance to go abroad but could not go because of the conventional mindset of people. She was held back, being the eldest child in the family, everyone bulldozed her for marriage and she got married at an early age. Her dreams were shattered thereafter.
Besides a dancing coach, Preeti was also a teacher at a private school and used to give private tuitions to kids and always worked as a front line coordinator in cultural activities. Everything was over as soon as she got married and she ended up losing all her hopes, her dreams, desires and wishes.
Preeti sacrificed the most important years of her life for her in-laws' family and in the meantime she gave birth to a daughter. After fifteen years, when her mother-in-law passed away, she went into a phase of depression and to overcome it, her husband motivated Preeti to return to her passion of dancing. She joined a dance academy and in three years she learned all the dance forms like Western, Bollywood and Salsa. Going ahead, she performed in many groups as her husband supported her and he never stopped or interrupted her in anything.
Preeti partnered with Kushal Jain in launching one of her own dance academies and within a few years, they started getting events besides choreography. Gradually she grew and shortly she opened an event company named ‘Seven Shades Events & Wedding Crafters’ and has done a lot of work so far for Destination Weddings.
Amidst all this, Preeti’s in-laws started troubling her and bothered her to the extent that Preeti’s father suggested to her to part her ways. But looking at her daughter’s future and her husband, Preeti decided to ignore things and move forward.
Due to Corona, Preeti says that the event business has come to a standstill, therefore she has opened a cafe with her friend as ‘Pakwan Cafe’. Although she is getting a good response in it, she is still struggling to make it work which she thinks she will soon be able to do. Her event business had an adverse impact because of the pandemic as all the bigger projects went out of her hand. But she also got an opportunity to spend quality time with her family and everything which was missing for so many years like care, enjoyment and paying attention to health, was able to get it all.
Talking about the achievements, Preeti thinks that whatever she is doing today is nothing less than an achievement, having just one regret that she could not do enough in dancing, which was her dream.
She gives a message to today’s women that never let your dreams end, no matter how much struggle you have to do, just fight for it and move forward. Also, to parents she says that you must believe in the sacraments you imbibe in your children and have faith in them that they will never go astray. Instead, support them to fulfill their dreams.
