One should keep on trying without desiring for the result.
Pratibha Jain is a Social Science Teacher at Miranda Senior Secondary School in Udaipur. She has been working with the school for the past eight years.
Speaking about her professional journey, Pratibha says that she was inspired to become a teacher by seeing her father, who was himself a teacher.
Describing her struggles, Pratibha says that when she started her journey at Miranda School, she faced difficulties as she had been educated in the Hindi medium while the school is an English medium school. To deal with this difficulty, she had to take the help of the principal, Ms. Mona, and other colleagues.
When asked about her role models, Pratibha says that she considers her father as her role model. She says that her father taught her to never give up in life. She has always seen her father face every struggle with courage. His father always told him to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's quote, "Arise, be awake, and stop not till the goal is achieved."
When asked which is more important in life, education or experience, Pratibha says that both are important, but experience matters most. She says there are a number of examples of people who made their name and are successful in society but who were not traditionally educated. She says anybody can get an education, but it’s the experience one gains through the journey that makes a person successful.
Pratibha's success mantra is “One should keep on trying without desiring for the result.”
Pratibha’s message to today's parents is that they should control their children's mobile usage. She says that parents should monitor what they are watching on their phones. Also, they must keep the children away from cigarettes, tobacco, and other stuff and explain to them what harm these addictions can cause in the future.
Pratibha advises the new teachers that a teacher should always keep themselves updated about their subject. It is the role of the teachers to always tell children about the latest changes. She says that teaching should be done keeping in mind the needs of the children and their abilities; do not weigh every child on the same scale. Further, she says that children should also be encouraged for their good performance.
