Prateek is a rapper and an artist at Blow Ethnic.
Prateek has been rapping for seven years. He hails from Salumbar, Rajasthan. From a tender age, he practiced rhythms on his dining table and made bars for rap songs he used to sing to friends. Rapping has been in his blood since a young age. He was inspired by Raftaar and Badshah and his fast rap verses.
Prateek later shifted to Delhi and worked at Sony Music Label under a mentor for several years. However, he believed that he should uplift the underground rap scene in Udaipur. So he came back home and started working at Blow Ethnic as a professional rapper, touching the lives of many through his words and rhythms.
Prateek advises that the road to being a professional is not easy. Financially speaking, this profession is either a hit-or-miss scenario for most beginners because they are not willing to go through the financial burdens. Many negative voices, including one's family, try to demotivate them. However, one must always trust the process and never give up.
During COVID-19, Prateek shared that all scheduled shows were canceled. Seeing the distress of the underprivileged and the dire economic situation of the country, he was motivated to make songs about COVID-19 awareness during the lockdown. He released his album on COVID on YouTube, and it has gained about ten lakh views.
For a budding artist, Prateek believes that one should have the cadence and knowledge of the technicalities of rapping and music production. One has to practice and master flow, write meaningful lyrics, and understand that presentation matters a lot for a rapper. Delivery according to the rhythm is key, asserts Parteek.
If Prateek could go back in time, he would want to go back to his school life. He likes traveling with friends. He also enjoys watching movies and listening to music. Experience is the best teacher, according to him. One has to invest time in a particular skill for growth and development.
On a concluding note, he says that some hurdles in this field are inevitable, but one must learn to pick themselves up and move forward towards their goal.
