Prateek Parikh was born and brought up in Udaipur. He completed his education at Central Academy School, Udaipur. He did his B.IT. from Manipal Academy, Jaipur. Prateek was always average in his studies and it only got worse as he progressed. He scored just fifty percent marks in his tenth after which he even failed a subject in his eleventh standard. After clearing his twelfth, one thing was clear in his mind, that he would pursue his career in business. He wanted to work with computers, their components, and CDs.
After completing his graduation, Prateek started working at E-connect Pvt. Ltd. in Udaipur. He initially earned a very minimal amount, but as he spent ten months working and learning, his salary was raised. Prateek wanted to earn more and his greed got him fired from the company as he dealt with a client personally, which was against the rules of the company. He cried a lot but didn’t give up. He urged his parents to open a business and his mother supported him and gave him thirty thousand rupees to open his own business. With that money, Prateek went to Delhi and Jaipur, bought and sold CDs and he earned four times as much as he had. He made the whole of his family proud with his tactics and ability. Suddenly, a person who was earning only a minimum amount in a company started earning millions. His maximum turnover per year reached up to 20 crores.
There was a gap in between when Prateek stopped his business because he lost interest in his work and thought he had had enough. But then, he realized it was not the end and started his business again to reach even greater heights in his business.
Prateek says trust and honesty are the basis of any business. You can earn a little less but you should never hurt the sentiments of anyone and respect everyone because every person around you is fighting their own battle in life.
Prateek says education is a must in life. You cannot completely depend on one thing and leave the others. Through education, there will always be a way for you if you fail in something. He thinks experience is earned in life through the work that you do. He believes no one can learn everything and there is always something to learn in life, which only comes as you progress in life.
Prateek feels, in business, it is important to respect people who work under you. You might force them to respect you through commands, but a true leader would always earn their respect. He says it is important to study the capabilities of a person before putting them to their respective roles in a business because everyone has different skills.
His role model in life is his ex-CEO at E-connect who taught him the value of honesty in life. He says if he would not have been fired from his job, he would not be where he is today in life.
If he can go back in time and undo anything, Prateek says he won’t change anything as there is nothing better than business for him and he is made for it.
From his childhood, Prateek remembers how he used to collect stickers of his favorite wrestlers from WWE and sell them for double their price to his classmates. When his parents came to know about his business in school, he got scolded. But Prateek thinks that it was his foundation in business, he started learning from a very young age and that has helped him succeed in his life.
Other than his work, Prateek loves listening to music. He says music is like medication for him and helps him forget all the stress in his life.
For youngsters who want to start their own business, he says they would have to learn the work and work hard. The most important aspect is their relationship with their clients in a business. If they know how to maintain a relationship, they can work even without having enough investments.
