Prashant Vyas has been a Social Activist for the last ten years. Leveraging upon his decade of social service expertise, he recently launched his own venture, Dhruvisha Enterprises, an Event Management Company named after his daughter, Dhruvisha.
Vyas aims to use this platform to explore and project the true glory of Udaipur. He envisions promoting the city's identity as the "Land of Meera" through events, capturing the essence of Mewar on different platforms.
Drawing inspiration from the success of South Indian cinema in promoting traditional stories, he intends to prioritize Udaipur’s history and culture in his events. He asserts that his projects will not be "simple, routine work” but will involve genuine "creation" to improve the image tourists hold of the city.
Prashant Vyas possesses a rich professional background, having spent 28 years in the corporate sector, primarily working with various Pharmaceutical companies. However, about 10 years ago, life offered him a new direction. He transitioned from a purely corporate role to becoming a Social Activist, joining 2-3 social organizations. He believes that while the corporate world gave him a career, the last decade spent with social organizations gave him a chance to see life closely.
Prashant Vyas is a proud resident of Udaipur. Although he was born in Bikaner, he was brought up in Udaipur and considers the city to be in his veins. Having witnessed the lakes of Udaipur in both their full and empty states, he understands the city's heartbeat and feels fortunate to have spent his life in a place that attracts the entire world.
He observes that today's youth have become "warriors of the drawing room" due to social media. He urges them to go out into the field, travel, and gain real-world direction, as true learning comes from ground-level experiences.
Reflecting on his childhood, Vyas admits he was an introvert and a very shy boy. He recalls watching people dance freely at weddings and wondering how they shed their inhibitions. He realized that shyness was a flaw that limited his personality. By forcing himself to step into the public sphere through social organizations, he shed this shyness. He believes that one’s identity is not just their birth or family, but what they do selflessly for their land and country. This self-growth is the reason he stands confident today.
Prashant Vyas spent his childhood in Udaipur, attending St. Paul’s School (where he remembers Father Coutinho) and Central Academy. He later attended Navbharat School and pursued his science education at BN College, followed by an MBA from Delhi.
His childhood dream was to become a Fighter Pilot. To pursue this, he obtained an NCC Certificate in college and was one of only two people selected for the SSB Interview. Unfortunately, the batch was cancelled. Despite this, he holds onto the spirit of that dream, recalling his achievements in National Skeet Shooting and earning stars as a Glider Pilot.
Prashant Vyas started his career early in hardcore Sales and Marketing. He dispels the myth that studious students should not go into sales. He believes "Everyone is selling," citing that even a child cries to "sell" his need to his parents. He advises youngsters not to run away from sales offers, as face-to-face interaction builds a strong personality and teaches one how to work in any field. He believes that if one listens to their heart, whether in Bollywood or a company, they will never regret trying to live their dreams.
Prashant Vyas is concerned about the depression and suicide rates among the youth. He reminds them of their ancestors who built empires through struggle and asserts that this is "not the time to die, but the time to work."
His personal role model is the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. He admires Bachchan not just for his career, but for keeping his family intact alongside Jaya Bachchan. Vyas emphasizes that "Family is First" and criticizes the modern trend of viewing marriage as a contract. He believes parents must be role models for their children.
He quotes the philosophy of his life, sharing a few lines from a song:
ज़िन्दगी हँसने गाने के लिए है। पल........ दो पल..... इसे खोना नहीं, खो के रोना नहीं। .....
Prashant Vyas reflects on the concept of achievement, distinguishing between material success and social impact. While he acknowledges that a normal life involving a corporate career, building assets like a company, or owning small and big cars is important, the achievement he truly believes in comes from his work with social organizations. He emphasizes that whenever one gets a chance or a responsibility in this field, they should forget the past and the future and simply "take it on." He believes in engaging opportunities—whether it is an interview or a crisis situation. In his view, joining a social organization during a crisis is actually a massive opportunity.
He proudly states that in the last seven years, he has secured the highest number of achievements in terms of numbers, despite social work being a "thankless job." He reached the position of Secretary of a social organisation for five districts of Rajasthan. He details a specific event—a Marathon that he organised—that transformed an area. When they organized this event, high-profile guests like Rajnath Singh attended.
The area originally had broken roads and a neglected garden. However, by inviting administrators to the event where 500 people participated, the authorities were forced to witness the condition of the park and roads, leading to immediate improvements. This proved that events can be used to improve the image and infrastructure of a particular area.
Social Activist Prashant Vyas stresses that if anyone raises an issue, the cause behind it must be transparent and pure. If there is any "malafide intention," the initiative is bound to fail because people today quickly understand the true nature of an NGO's intentions. He asserts that when a role is transparent and performed strictly for the betterment of citizens, the activist earns genuine value and a respectable image.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda, who said, "Give me a few hundred people, I will change the world," Prashant applies this to Udaipur. He believes that if even a hundred or ten youths come together without selfishness to work for the city's betterment, the entire society and business community will support them. He calls this contribution a "Guru Dakshina" for the city of Udaipur.
He acknowledges that this path involves a step-by-step process. He advises the youth to join existing companies or platforms to learn. Citing his own example, he mentions he is connected to the International Human Rights Forum and has been working as a volunteer for 10 years. He describes volunteering as a "thankless job" that doesn't pay money, but offers immense "sense of individual achievement" and self-worth when one sits alone and reflects.
He compares generations, noting that older people had strong "Social Engineering"—they knew how to handle people, talk, and laugh. Today, social engineering has shifted to the internet, and people have stopped reading books or meeting others. To fix this, he urges the youth to go out and connect with people to increase their individuality.
For those aspiring to make a career in Event Management, Prashant Vyas advises taking 4-5 years to connect with good social organizations first. Working for a common cause develops skills that cannot be bought. He gives the powerful example of Baba Ramdev, who spent five years doing only Yoga to create an identity for himself and build a platform. Once his passion spread worldwide and his personal branding was established, he launched Patanjali, which is now a massive 20-30 crore Indian company. Prashant urges the youth to follow this strategy: open your eyes, meet people, give yourself time to learn, and then launch professionally.
Concluding his story, Dhruvisha Enterprises Promoter Prashant Vyas announces a major upcoming initiative. In three months, he is going to organise a Big Bollywood Event in collaboration with the government and administration. He invites the people of Udaipur to a Talent Hunt, aiming to introduce Udaipur's local talent to Mumbai. He invites interested individuals to contact him personally or visit his office, Dhruvisha Enterprises.
