Where words end, music starts.
Where words end, music starts.
Prasham Jain comes from Udaipur, Rajasthan. He is from an upper-middle-class family. He had been fascinated by music since his childhood but only learned about rapping when he was 16 years old. Gradually, his interest in this genre grew, and he himself started writing songs.
Prasham says a rapper is a poet who should also have sound knowledge about music and be able to connect words in a way that affects the listeners’ soul.
Prasham’s favorite rappers are King, Raftaar, and Rakim. He says their individual styles are a treat to listen to and are also very inspiring.
Prasham feels that to write good rap music, you need to have good observation skills coupled with excellent vocabulary and word referencing.
According to Prasham, the best way to grow as a rapper, or an artist in general, is to attend club meets and ciphers to demonstrate your skills and also learn from others.
Prasham thinks that there is a general misconception in society that rap is not a dignified profession, but contrary to that, rap is actually a remedy for the modern world. He believes rap can help people express their inner sorrows and joys in a creative way and help society connect better. Furthermore, he says, rap is for anyone and everyone; you just need the will and ability to express yourself.
In his free time, Prasham likes to watch Netflix and listen to other rappers.
