Dr. Prakriti Dixit Porwal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management Studies at the Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur, where she has been working for the last nine months.
Talking about her journey into teaching, Prakriti says she taught at Pacific University before joining Geetanjali Institute and has an overall experience of ten years in the education field. Though she spent some time working in the private sector, she later found her true calling in teaching.
Recalling her childhood, Prakriti says she was born in Kanpur and got a chance to live in different states of India owing to her father’s transferable job. She spent a happy childhood surrounded by good friends and also scored fairly well in academics.
Discussing her educational qualifications, Prakriti shares that she completed her education in Mumbai and her PhD in Udaipur.
Sharing her life struggles, Prakriti says that there were many, but she learned from those experiences and kept moving forward in life.
Talking about the pandemic, Prakriti says that it was a phase of constant worry for her because both her husband and her father-in-law were in the medical field and had to be on the ground.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Prakriti says that both go hand-in-hand and there should be a balance between the two. She adds that while education gives you knowledge, it is experience that introduces you to the practical world.
If Prakriti could travel back in time, she would not rectify any of her mistakes since she believes that they made her a better person. However, she expresses the desire to connect with some of her known ones.
Prakriti advises the youth to keep on learning and moulding themselves according to situations.
In her free time, Prakriti spends time with her son, doing his favourite activities.
