Prakhar Seeyal is the founder of a solar energy company known as PY HeavyEE Energy and Building Solutions LLP. Prakhar explains that PY is a Japanese term that means error-free or mistake-proof. He is working in this sector with the same ideology to provide error-free, best-possible services and solutions to his clients.
Starting a solar company from scratch, and growing it 5x times successfully is a huge achievement for Prakhar. He has also executed a 100-KW solar project on the tough terrain of the Kumbhalgarh mountains. Talking about maintenance projects, he shares that he has worked with MNCs like Amazon, Mitsuba, and Nestle. Currently, his company is working on several projects totalling 3 MW.
Prakhar Seeyal is also a member of the Rotary Club Udaipur Udyam and Rotary Means Business Udaipur. He feels that Rotary clubs help you become a good human being as they make us socially active and we start thinking about the betterment of the lives of needy people around us.
Prakhar adds that he has worked on a project ‘Akshay Urja’ , an initiative of the Rotary Club Udaipur Udyam. He was co-chair of this initiative, while another member Vaibhav was the project head.
This project involved remote villages where people were unable to see the small insects and snakes entering their homes due to a lack of electricity. Thus, as a solution to these problems, the club took the initiative to distribute solar lamps and solar lights in such remote areas.
He adds that anyone joining the Rotary Club will grow into a socially responsible person. The club helps you network with like-minded people.
Born and brought up in Nathdwara, Prakher did his high schooling at Alok Senior Secondary School, Rajsamand. Later, he relocated to Udaipur to pursue his higher schooling. He completed a BTech degree course with a specialisation in Mechanical Engineering from the Pacific College of Engineering in Udaipur itself. When Prakher started looking for a job, he struggled in the initial year but focused on learning the practical parts of the subject.
After completing his degree course, Prakhar took a job in the mechanical engineering field. While doing this job, his company received a project from Indira IVF from the parent company. After working on this project, he switched jobs and joined the solar industry and worked there for 4 years. This job inspired him to establish his own business in the field of solar energy.
He shares some professional life challenges that he faced in his early years. He talks about a project that was located on the mountainous trek of Kumbhalgarh. It was barely possible to walk there, but they executed a 100-KW project there, which was a huge challenge as well as an achievement for them. Till date, the project is surviving well despite high wind velocity, and this experience helped Prakher learn a lot in his personal as well as professional life.
Talking about his role models, Prakhar Seeyal mentions that the director of his former company, Ishaan Chaturvedi, inspired him a lot to make a career in the solar field. Ishaan taught him the growing importance of solar technology as well as how to deal with customers. Later, once he established his own business, Prakher found inspiration in his mentor, Mr. Hiten Odhani, who taught him professionalism, financial goals, bookkeeping, etc.
Er. Prakher shares that the quote that inspires him the most is ‘Always be practical’ and ‘Keep working hard, and success will definitely follow you.’
Talking about challenges in businesses and startups, Prakher mentions that initially we might face challenges and every step may be difficult. Startups may not be able to get projects, but one must always be confident and try to work out new strategies rather than sitting ideally. There might be times when we don't have any work at all and feel like giving up. But all we should do is be patient and work our way out of it.
He shares a message for the common people of the country. He says that not every citizen lives the life of a soldier or fights on the borders of the nation. But we can definitely do good deeds for the nation by working on solar projects. He adds that installing one solar plant is equivalent to installing 10 trees. We can also do small deeds by supporting the ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ by our beloved Prime Minister and many other small actions that can create a big social impact overall.
