Prakash Chauhan is the owner of Melody India Events and performs music shows under its aegis on national and international levels. He is also a singer, music director and has also acted in many serials.
Prakash says that he was born in Mundara village in Pali district but was raised in Mumbai. He did his schooling in Mumbai and graduated in 1978 from Mithibai College. In 1986, he performed for the Rajasthan Samaj and the Chhipa Samaj and the programme was inaugurated by Dimple Kapadia. He was also the first secretary of the Music Department in Mithibai College and worked in that position from 1976 to 1978.
Prakash says that he has worked with legends like Anu Malik, Jatin-Lalit, Nadeem-Shravan, Iqbal Kureshi among many others. He also shares a cordial friendship with Raju Shrivastav, Johnny Lever, Sunil Pal and Kishore Bhanushali. Prakash says that his voice resembles Kishore Kumar and he was often referred to as the voice of Kishore Kumar by many.
Talking about his childhood, Prakash says that his family was into tailoring and clothing business and he was the first one to get into the field of art. He says that it was never his thought to get into this field and it was all destiny’s play for him.
When asked about his role models, Prakash says that Kishore Kumar is his role model as he learned everything in his life listening to him.
Sharing about his achievements, Prakash says that he has provided music in a Rajasthani film titled, ‘Preet Na Jaane Reet’, a Bhojpuri film titled, ‘Suresh Bihari’ and has created many Bhajans related to Jainism.
Talking about motivation in his life, Prakash says that the lines of the following song motivates him a lot, ‘Ruk Jana Nahi Tu Kahi Haar Ke, Kanton Pe Chalke Milenge Saaye Bahaar Ke.’
Advising the youth who desire to come into this field, Prakash says that patience is very necessary in this field. Also, he feels that we should not let success get into our mind and be humble always. Prakash also advises everyone to take formal education in the field of music.
