Pradeep Singh is the founder of Cosmic Sounds and Entertainment Private Limited’. It's a professional dubbing company that has a presence in more than four cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Noida, and Bangalore. It has been in the recording ecosystem for over 12 years. It provides voice over services in different languages.
Pradeep hails from Jaipur and completed his graduation there. After his graduation, he moved to Delhi and established his company.
Sharing about his journey, Pradeep says he had gone to Delhi to do an internship with a company. Once, he visited a sound recording studio with his friend and found it very interesting. Then he took a course in Sound Engineering. He joined an e-learning company that was running a sound recording studio. He worked for two years with the company, where he got the opportunity to meet many of the key people in the music industry. He says, in those days, the e-learning concept was on the rise, so he started getting work as a sound engineer.
In search of more income, he started giving his services to other companies as a freelancer after his office hours. He was working hard, as he was working for more than sixteen hours a day and spending his nights sleeping on the chairs at the office. After working like that for four and a half years, he decided to establish something of his own. He then founded his company, “Cosmic Sounds,” and started working from home. He used to do research online about the industry, and one fine day he had the thought of working with foreign languages. He studied the field and the working opportunities in foreign languages. After six years, he launched his company with a whole new set-up for recording and voice over services.
Pradeep says the real challenge came when, because of some government policies, he had to shift his studio to a commercial area. But just when he finished reconstructing his new studio, the COVID pandemic hit, and everything came to a halt. He lost most of the money he had invested in the studio. But in the middle of this crisis, he got some hope from Canada, where one of his clients offered him an online opportunity. He worked on that project and earned a good amount of money during that time when even the big giants were suffering. He thanks his team for putting in their efforts to complete that project on time and pulling the company out of the crisis successfully.
When asked about his mistakes, Pradeep says mistakes are for learning. He remembers once starting a venture in partnership. Although the partnership didn’t go well, it gave him some important lessons in his field, and he learned so much about it.
When asked about his role models, Pradeep says he considers his senior, “Ravindra Singh Rajawat,” as his role model. He calls him “Ravi Dada”. He assisted Ravi Dada with sound recording, camera work, and direction. Now Ravi Dada is a film producer who taught him the intricacies of his field and inspired him a lot.
In his free time, Pradeep enjoys spending time with his twin daughters, who are three and a half years old. He also takes his family on outings. Sometimes he goes for a run and works out in the gym.
The quote that inspires Pradeep a lot is “You always have to be honest towards your job and your people.” Respect your work, and respect people, particularly your seniors who have taught you the specifics of the industry.
Pradeep advises the young aspirants who want to pursue their career in this field, that they can get good opportunities as voice-over artists. There are ample opportunities available in this field for project managers, sound recordists, sound engineers, and especially dubbing artists.
