Pradeep Chauhan is the Founder and Director of a piano conservatoire by the name Soul of Symphony in Jaipur.
Pradeep was born in a remote area in Bharatpur but the formative years of his life were spent in Dungarpur as his father was posted with the Indian Railways there. Later his family moved to Jaipur and he too moved there and completed the remainder of his school education there itself. Then he completed his bachelors from Rajasthan University in Jaipur.
Pradeep shares that during his bachelors, he also took admission to a four-year Diploma Course in Music at Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan in Jaipur. He says that on one occasion he wanted to participate in a music competition that was to be held in Jaipur. For that his music teacher trained him a lot. But when he was not able to learn it up to the mark, his teacher advised him not to participate in the competition. It left him demotivated and he thought of quitting music. But his brother who was also learning Music and was in Udaipur at that time consoled him and proposed he come to Udaipur instead to learn Music. He came to Udaipur and learned music there for a few years before finally moving back to Jaipur.
Pradeep shares that earlier he used to teach History but later he took the plunge to pursue his passion for music. He started learning Indian Classical Music under his guru, who later advised him to learn Western Classical Music. Following his guru’s advice, he started preparing for Trinity College London Piano Grade Examinations. He claims that he was the first one in North India to complete the Grade Eight examination in Piano from Trinity College,London.
Pradeep shares that he used to travel by train to Delhi to learn to play Piano. He says during one such trip to Delhi, he happened to experience death from close and that moment was a complete metamorphosis for him. He decided to quit his Piano practice and set up his own music academy in Jaipur so that people in Jaipur would not have to travel to Delhi to learn Music.
His Success Mantra is to always remain enlightened and this is what his name also suggests.
Pradeep believes that in life it is the blend of both Education and Experience that matters. He says if education is the soul then experience is the body. Furthermore, he says that your education prepares you holistically and it speeds up the process of achieving your goals.
In his spare time, Pradeep likes to be in nature and explore the greenery and the adventures that nature has to offer.
To aspiring musicians, Pradeep advises them to internalize music by heart. Besides, he advises them to practice a lot and then think of performing.
Pradeep advises people that Music must be part of their lives. If they can’t learn Music they should at least listen to it. Besides, he advises them to preserve Nature by doing as little as planting trees.
