Prableen Kaur Bhomrah is a content creator on social media. She creates content on make-up and fashion and also talks about body and skin positivity.
Prableen was born and raised in Mumbai. She did a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering.
Talking about her childhood, Prableen says that her parents would always take her to the gurdwara to offer prayers and sing hymns. Besides, she says that she was quite active in extra-curricular activities at school. She would participate in dance, singing, and sports activities. She was the captain of her school's Hockey and Football teams. She was also into creative aspects of things and hence she thought taking to social media would be the right career option for her.
Prableen shares that her father was into the construction-contract business and wanted her to become a civil engineer. That’s why she thought of pursuing civil engineering. But in her third year of bachelors, she realized that civil engineering was not meant for her. Meanwhile, she would also post her pictures on social media, and during COVID, she started posting on social media regularly.
Prableen says that it’s paramount to accept your body and skin the way they are. She says nowadays what people show on social media and how they actually look are totally different. And when she realized this she started encouraging people to post pictures on social media of their real selves without any filters. People liked her for this initiative and she also went viral on social media.
Talking about her struggles, Prableen says that she was at her lowest when she was battling her PCOS and mental health problems. However, her family and social media fans helped her overcome her tough times.
Talking about her achievements, Prableen says that Femina magazine featured her as India’s first ever skin-positive influencer. Besides, being able to motivate young girls through social media to accept the way they are is also an achievement for her.
Talking about COVID, Prableen says that during the pandemic, her father was down with the virus, and owing to that her family had to struggle financially. She also had to bear the loss of some of her friends and relatives. However, she says that her social media career hit its peak during the pandemic. More and more people started liking her content and connecting with her on social media which kept her psyched up during the tough times.
Her Success Mantra is to don’t just wish for it but work for it as well.
To aspiring social media content creators, Prableen advises them to be consistent and hard working. Besides, she advises them to strive to make their content different to stand out in the social media space.
In her spare time, Prableen likes to watch TV shows and web series. She also likes to spend time with her friends and play sports.
In future, Prableen sees herself as an entrepreneur living a settled and happy life.
If she could go back in time via a Time Machine, Prableen would want to start creating content early on in life. She thinks that had she started creating content early on she could have addressed a bigger and wider audience by now.
