A skin and hair consultant, Poonam is running her own salon and offers freelance aesthetic training and consultancy. She has been working in this industry for the last 15 years.

Poonam has been running her own business since 2013 and for the last nine years she has been serving Indore.

Poonam comes from a military background and was brought up in a disciplined family as her father was a BSF officer. She started her career as a medical student and turned to the beauty industry in 2007.

Talking about her childhood, Poonam says that she is a lucky child to have such a nice family. As her father was a BSF officer,  she had to be disciplined and not allowed to take a single day off from school. She was always supported by her mother and started giving tuitions in twelfth standard. She also worked with various  multinational companies like Lakme, Kaya Skin Clinic, VLCC and many more.

Describing her journey, Poonam says that she started as a medical student and then completed her graduation. She also learnt medical administration and pursued medical diplomas. She says that after working for multinational companies, she decided to choose the beauty industry as a profession and worked for eight years in the same industry. Afterwards, she started her own brand in Indore and gives training to the students in this field.

Regretting her mistakes, Poonam says that at the time of choosing her career, she was not able to set a single target. She learned from her mistakes to make quick and better decisions and to manage her time with a clear vision.

Poonam’s role model is Bhumika, and she wants to become like her. She says Bindra Sir also inspires her as a business coach. She also learned a lot of things from her daily routine.

In her spare time, Poonam always tries to enhance her learning. She reads books like Gita to improve her life stability. She also likes to do meditation to connect herself with spirituality.

Sharing her life mantra, Poonam says that you are the only one who motivates yourself. She believes that it is important to set small goals and try to achieve them to attain success in life. She says self-motivation and self-confidence are very important.

Poonam advises aspirants to her industry that it is a service industry, which requires good quality and proper analysis of the market. She says this industry has a wide scope for growth. To enter this field, basic knowledge and training are important.
