Poojashree Verma’s path from the humble railway quarters of Ujjain to the peaceful academic corridors of Udaipur reflects determination shaped by deep-rooted values. A passionate educator and researcher, she finds energy in nature, yoga, and the art of inspiring others.

Poojashree Verma is currently serving as an Associate Professor at Pacific College of Pharmacy, Udaipur. In her short time at the institution, she has grown fond of both the college’s supportive academic atmosphere and Udaipur’s serene and inspiring surroundings, which together create an ideal setting for teaching and learning.

Pharmacy educator Poojashree Verma shares that she hails from a humble middle-class background and feels a deep spiritual connection to her hometown, Ujjain. Reflecting on her childhood, she fondly recalls growing up in a close-knit community shaped by her father’s career in the Indian Railways.

Surrounded by the hustle of railway life, she learned the values of dedication to work, the joy of interacting warmly with others, and the comfort of living in a friendly, supportive environment. These experiences have left a lasting impression on her, forming some of the most cherished memories of her early life.

Associate Professor Poojashree Verma hails from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. She completed both her B.Pharm and M.Pharm degrees in her hometown, later engaging in research and academic work at Oriental University, Indore. Deeply passionate about research, Poojashree moved to Udaipur in search of a serene and natural environment that would support her academic focus. She shares that a close friend—also a research scholar—played a key role in motivating her to pursue research more seriously, further fueling her dedication to the field.

When asked about her role models, Poojashree Verma shares that she draws immense inspiration from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam for his dedication, simplicity, and vision. She also admires Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty for her balanced lifestyle and fitness. On a more personal level, her biggest inspirations are her father and one of her uncles—both of whom overcame numerous challenges in life and achieved success across different fields such as politics and business. Their resilience  continues to motivate her in her own pursuit.

Reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic, Pharmacy researcher Poojashree Verma shares that it significantly disrupted her Ph.D. career, making it challenging to return to academic life after a long break. She is grateful for the financial and emotional support provided by her parents during that difficult phase. As an educator, she had to adapt quickly, shifting to online teaching and rethinking traditional methodologies. Poojashree also observes that the prolonged gap impacted students deeply, causing a noticeable setback in their academic progress and learning continuity.

She believes that both education and experience play vital roles in life. While education lays the foundation, it is experience that truly propels a person forward. She shares that one’s workplace becomes like a second family, and as a teacher, students often look up to you—making it essential to lead by example.

According to her, it doesn't matter where you studied or how many degrees you hold; what truly counts is your ability to learn and grow through experience. She emphasizes the importance of being open to learning from everyone—be it seniors or co-workers—as every interaction offers a chance to gain valuable insight.

If given a time machine to travel back in time, Yoga lover Professor Poojashree would love to go back and relive the carefree days of her past—living more freely and enjoying life to the fullest. She fondly recalls the times spent with her friends and feels that those moments are truly irreplaceable. Poojashree believes that while studies are important, life should be a balanced mix of academics, friendships, and personal growth. According to her, being versatile and embracing all aspects of life is the key to true happiness and fulfillment.

Pharmacy professor Verma believes that the mantra behind her success is simple yet powerful: Dream big and work relentlessly to turn those dreams into reality. She emphasizes that no work is small, and every achievement demands effort and sacrifice. "If you work hard, success will definitely follow," she says. She also strongly believes in learning from elders and respecting their experience and guidance. According to her, following moral values (naitik shiksha) is equally important, as it helps build a strong foundation for a meaningful life.

In her leisure time, Poojashree Verma finds solace in nature. She enjoys connecting with people, spreading positivity, and motivating those who may be feeling low or disheartened. Her hobbies also include dancing, and she is deeply devoted to Yoga, which she considers not just a physical activity but a spiritual practice that keeps her grounded and balanced.
