Pooja Nagarrsheth is a makeup artist based in Ahmedabad. She is the founder of ‘Behold Beauty by Pooja Nagarrsheth’. With twelve years of experience in the industry, she has established herself as a professional in this field.

Pooja shares that she became a makeup artist by an interesting sequence of events. It so happened that her sister planned to move to the USA and sought to learn skincare and makeup knowledge as a survival skill. Eager to support her sister, Pooja decided to join makeup classes along with her. While her sister pursued a different career in the USA, Pooja unexpectedly continued on the path which led her to become a makeup artist in India.

Talking about her childhood, Pooja says that growing up in a lower middle-class family, she faced various challenges during her childhood. Despite financial constraints, her parents made diligent efforts to provide everything for her and her siblings. Realizing the need to support her parents both emotionally and financially by the time she reached the 10th grade, Pooja put her dreams of learning singing and dancing on hold. Nonetheless, her patience and faith guided her through life's obstacles.

Pooja’s journey as a makeup artist had begun unintentionally, and embracing it as a profession proved to be her biggest challenge. Along the way, she encountered ups and downs, witnessing unscrupulous makeup artists who rebranded and resold others’ products at inflated prices. Determined to provide genuine knowledge, Pooja made it her mission to teach her students the complete techniques she had learned through years of experimentation. She acknowledges that she is still in a learning phase and considers herself to be in the midst of a continuing struggle.

Reflecting on her mistakes, Pooja acknowledges her impatience and aggression as areas which needed improvement. A humbling incident occurred when she scolded her 10-year-old daughter in public, leading to her daughter's tears. Her daughter's response served as a valuable lesson, and Pooja has since made efforts to rectify her behavior.

Pooja's sense of accomplishment lies in successfully balancing her roles as a daughter, mother, wife, makeup artist, recruiter, and dancer. She believes that achieving this balance in her personal and professional life is her true accomplishment. She is also a member of the Working Committee of the ‘Interactive Forum on Indian Economy’ which has distinguished people like ex-CJI K.G. Balakrishnan, Baba Ramdev and Nandan Jha as members.

Pooja’s role model is her mother, who embodies a spirit of lifelong learning and continual growth for Pooja.

In her leisure time, Pooja indulges in her hobbies of makeup, cooking, and dancing.

Whenever she feels stressed, Pooja finds solace by engaging with her family and dedicating time to herself. The art of makeup also brings her positivity and joy.
