Following a rational and accommodating approach in educational administration, Piyush Sharma has been ensuring his students’ holistic development for more than ten years.

Piyush Sharma is the H.O.D. of Electrical Engineering Department in the S.S. College of Engineering, Udaipur.

Piyush Sharma is basically from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He did his schooling from Varanasi itself. Later, he did Electrical Engineering form Uttar Pradesh Technical University, followed by Masters from Galgotias University in Power Electronics and Drives.

After completing his Masters in 2013, Piyush was selected in the S.S. College of Engineering during the campus drive. Two years back, he joined Rajasthan Technical University to pursue his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering. Piyush has written several research papers on Electrical Engineering and Electronics. Currently, he is working on electric vehicles and exploring Communication Engineering on a deeper level.

Talking about the hard times he faced, Piyush says that after completing his post-graduation, he wanted to do Ph.D from premium institutes like the IITs or NITs, but due to lack of technical knowledge, he couldn’t make it.

Piyush advises the youth to grasp a practical knowledge of their field while studying in order to secure a job at the end of their graduation. He says that in contemporary times, getting a job is very difficult so everyone should focus on job-oriented studies.

Piyush considers his maternal uncle, who was Professor in IIT (BHU) and is currently retired, as his role model. His punctuality and organised approach towards life inspires Piyush.

If he had the chance to revisit a part of his life, Piyush would like to relive his school life and cherish beautiful memories with his friends. And if he could change something from his life, he would like to go for NDA after twelfth instead of engineering.

Piyush believes that today's world is different and the student-teacher relationship should be easy-going and friendly rather than the traditional approach of teachers being strict. He cites the example of the mentor program of their college while saying that students should be able to discuss their problems with their teachers.

Piyush says that the teaching methodology should answer ‘hows’ and ‘whys’. And students should know why they are being taught what they are being taught, so as to develop a rational mind in themselves. Piyush himself follows this approach and also makes his staff follow the same approach.
