Piyush, an engineering faculty director at Pacific University, focuses on industry-focused curriculums, MOUs, and incubation centres. He feels a sense of pride in his accomplishments and believes that establishing oneself is a greater challenge than dwelling on regrets.

Piyush Javeriya is the director of the faculty of engineering at Pacific University, Udaipur. He earned a master's degree in software engineering from University College, London. The largest content management company in Europe, Latex, was his employer. Then he made the decision to go back to India. He spent a year working for a survey company before deciding to return to his academic field of passion. He eventually found a challenging job in faculty management at Pacific University after making a few applications. For the past 11 years, he has been here.

Piyush is currently in charge of the engineering faculty, which involves both academics and administration. He is changing the curriculum to be more industry-focused, signing MOUs to improve the employability of graduating students, and launching new incubation centres.

Speaking about his childhood, Piyush shares that he grew up in Jhansi, where his father was the general manager at BHEL. He used to live in a well-developed township. He once won a golf tournament in his childhood, which is one of his prized memories.

Describing his challenges, Piyush believes that the real challenge is to establish oneself instead of regretting it. One can grow oneself even in tier two or tier three cities, contrary to popular belief.  He feels proud of establishing himself, starting as an assistant professor and leading an engineering institute as a director. Piyush believes that his journey from being an assistant professor to becoming the director of an engineering institute is a testament to the fact that one can achieve success and growth in any city.

Sharing his pandemic experience, Piyush says that COVID-19 came as a huge challenge to the university. They had to teach online, and both teachers and students were uncomfortable with the online mode of studying. Conducting examinations was another huge challenge.

According to Piyush, both education and experience are critical, and there should be a balance between the two. After receiving a good education, a person needs to find an employment opportunity to apply their knowledge practically. Piyush thinks that while experience aids in the development of practical skills and an understanding of real-world challenges, education offers a solid foundation. He thinks that the secret to success in any field is the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

His role models are Swami Vivekananda and Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs' story and his struggles really inspire him. Piyush appreciates the creativity and innovation done by Steve Jobs in his Apple products and how he has revolutionized the technology industry.

In his free time, Piyush enjoys photography, traveling, and cooking. He is also a foodie who enjoys different cuisines from around the world. Some foreign countries he loved to visit were Turkey and the Czech Republic, especially the city of Prague, due to its friendly people.

Given a chance to go back in time, Piyush would like to go back to school and relive his school memories. He still cherishes the memories of troubling his teachers and having fun with his school friends. He believes that those years shaped him into the person he is today, and he would love to experience that joy and innocence again. Additionally, Piyush believes that reliving those memories would remind him of the importance of embracing one's youth and appreciating the simple joys in life.

Piyush also wants to go back to Varanasi and explore the city and its rich culture and heritage. He says Varanasi, being the oldest city in India, holds a special place in his heart, and he longs to immerse himself in its spiritual atmosphere once more. Piyush is particularly drawn to the city's ghats, where he used to spend hours watching the water and reflecting on life. He yearns to reconnect with the city's vibrant energy and witness its timeless traditions again.

Leadership is something Piyush believes is inherited. His father was a general manager at BHEL, and he learned a lot from him. From being something as small as a class monitor to heading large-scale projects, he believes that leadership is the observation of opportunities and including everyone in your surroundings. He designates work, shares responsibilities, and also tries to develop a new ladder of leaders in his organization.

People who inspire Piyush are prime ministers and leading personalities of various nations who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. He admires their ability to make tough decisions, inspire their citizens, and bring about positive change on a global scale. Additionally, Piyush also finds inspiration in everyday individuals who display strong leadership qualities in their respective fields, such as teachers who empower their students or community leaders who work tirelessly to improve the lives of others.

He offers valuable advice to young aspirants in the academic field: be smart, confident, and actively seek industry exposure. In the contemporary landscape, a major challenge lies in employability, which can only be improved through the engagement of various stakeholders. Staying updated with the latest trends, according to Piyush, is an ongoing endeavor that should never cease.
