Known as the Mirror Image Man of India, Piyush is a writer, author, motivational speaker, and world record holder recognized for his unique style of writing books in mirror image. He is a mechanical engineer by education and a writer by passion.

Piyush Goel is a Mechanical Engineer who has 27 years of experience in the field. He is passionate about mathematics, cricket, and writing.

Talking about his early days, Piyush says he grew up in Dadri in a middle class family and pursued his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1987. Thereafter, he started working for a manufacturing company and continued to pursue his passion.

Discussing his journey into writing, Piyush says that in his attempt to do something different, he started writing letters in reverse, practising it regularly. His books are handwritten as mirror images, one of which is the Bhagavad Gita. Piyush has also written on different mediums, like iron sheets and with the help of a mehendi cone. He promotes his work in colleges and on social media platforms.

Speaking of his achievements, Piyush says he has written 17 books in the mirror image form from 2003 to 2022, which he considers an achievement. In 2012, he achieved a significant milestone by setting the record for writing the world's first mirror-image book, Madhushala of Harivansh Rai Bachchan, using a needle. Piyush has been featured in the Limca Book of Records. Being interviewed for his art has also been an accomplishment for him. He has three of his books showcased in a museum.

Recalling his childhood, Piyush shares that he remembers his early days, which were spent with his friends. He recollects a fond memory when his father was posted in Mathura and one of his father’s friends gave him a stamp book to read. He feels that that very experience propelled him to do something in life. Piyush shares his memory of collecting currency notes, autographs, and pens. He speaks of the incident wherein he was scolded by his teacher for not knowing spellings well, after which he promised himself to memorise every spelling by heart and not commit any mistakes.

When asked about his role models, Piyush says he draws inspiration from Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He finds inspiration in Robert Frost’s poem ‘Miles to go before I sleep.’

Sharing a glimpse of his challenges, Piyush says that dedicating an hour daily to write his book while pursuing his mechanical engineering degree and also managing personal affairs was quite a task for him. However, with proper time management, he could achieve his target while also giving time to his education and family. On that note, Piyush feels that we need to be hardworking and disciplined in order to enjoy the fruits of our labour in the future.

Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Piyush values experience more when compared to education. Adding to it, he says that education should be 20% and experience should take up the rest of it.

In his message to aspiring artists and writers, Piyush says that they ought to be passionate about learning mirror image writing, which he is willing to teach free of charge.

Piyush advises the youth to never fear challenges and says that those who work hard will never fail. He suggests they work diligently towards their dreams to make them a reality.
