Phool Singh Meena is the MLA from the Udaipur(Rural) constituency. He has served two terms as the MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party. With constant hard work and selfless service, he has become a renowned name in the society.

Phool Singh Meena belongs to Gadoli village in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. He was able to study only till seventh grade then he had to switch to farming because his father, who was in the military, had been martyred and his elder brother had joined the service following that.

Phool Singh had tried to get selected in the army. However, he was not able to make it as he was overaged. Then he turned to farming and did it for 12 years before switching to working as a daily labourer due to low profit in farming. He went to Kota in search of work and began working there as a labourer. Then he came in touch with a contractor who liked Phool Singh’s work and employed him as foreman. While working on a project, Phool Singh got in an accident and got seriously injured. After two years of rehabilitation, he joined the same company as a security guard.

Due to his knowledge and contacts in the contracting business, Phool Singh got a contract in Bhilwara which proved to be very successful for him. Later, he got contracts from all over Rajasthan and built a good name for himself in the contracting business.

Phool Singh was also a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and thus was also affiliated with the BJP indirectly. He recalls that there was a time when the ward elections were going on and a ST woman refused to stand against the other party due to societal pressure. This infuriated Phool Singh and he motivated his wife to contest in the elections. They worked very hard to make her win but eventually they lost. However, seeing the hard work and grief of the party workers, Phool Singh got inspiration and he stopped all his contracting operations and became the Ward President of the BJP. This was only the beginning of his journey in politics. He held the post of the District and the State Secretary of the BJP and later became a trustee of the UIT. In 2009, Phool Singh won the ward elections with huge numbers and again in 2013 he became the ward councilor. He won the assembly elections in 2013 and 2018.

While serving as the ward councilor, Phool Singh again started his education on the insistence of his daughters and cleared the examination of twelfth standard. He is currently in the third year of his graduation and is looking forward to his final exams in June this year. He studies for his exams very seriously even when he is travelling, he keeps on studying through videos. He is also determined to attain a doctorate in the future. Phool Singh was also inspired by the enthusiasm and awareness of his daughters and subsequently he launched a scheme of free air travel for bright female students coming from the rural background, with his private funding. His idea yielded an excellent result and motivated many female students to study further.

He is very grateful to his party, its hardworking workers and the general public for giving him the chance to serve twice as an MLA. He says that he would never be able to repay the debt that the public has laid on him with faith.

Phool Singh advises the youngsters who are pursuing politics to first decide their main aim of pursuing this field of career. He says that politics demands great devotion to the society and the  general public, and the people who are coming into this field for personal benefits will never make it long. To the youth in general, Phool Singh has to say that keep working hard with a defined goal regardless of failures or struggles, as you will definitely succeed through sincere efforts.
