As a doctor, PC Jain has devoted his life to serve society. He also did exemplary work for promoting rainwater harvesting and de-addiction.

Dr. P C Jain is a veteran medical practitioner and the owner of the P C Jain Hospital.

Recalling his journey, PC says when he was in the ninth grade, he used to write a daily diary, and one day he wrote an oath in it that he would  become a doctor someday. Later, he got admission to RNT Medical College and also did a PG in Medicine, Radiology, TB and Chest Diseases. In between, he got a job as an Assistant Professor and medical officer at the university. He left his PG education and started working at the university.

Talking about his challenges, PC says private practice was not considered an honorable job when he first started his own clinic. He used to practice along with his internship. He continued to practice despite low income because he wanted to serve the poor people of the city. Later, he established an x-ray center and laboratory in his clinic. After some time, he opened an indoor hospital. In between, he was called by his teacher to treat patients suffering from effects of poisonous substances at the company, Pesticides India. He wound up his hospital and started working at Pesticides India. He continued to work in the company for eight years with a hundred percent positive results.

Sharing his accomplishments, PC says that patients’ satisfaction with the treatment is the biggest accomplishment for him. He also promoted water management and rain water harvesting and de-addiction, which helped him serve society more effectively.

PC says he was also called by the Sikh community in the US to guide people and make a better future. He also educates the youth on radio and YouTube by collaborating with others and contributing to addiction prevention and water conservation.

Sharing his opinion on education and experience, PC says qualification plays a major role, as in the field of medical science, it is important to have knowledge first before experiencing it in real life. He says that experience is also important, as it is said that medicine is not a science but an art, and one needs experience to master it.

PC says there are three major pillars to becoming successful in the medical profession. One is availability, which ensures that the doctor is always available for treatment. Second is affinity, which helps doctors understand patients’ ailments better and treat patients with respect. Ability is the most important pillar, as it refers to the skills and knowledge that cures patients.

Talking about his role models, PC says he considers Swami Vivekananda his role model as he inspires one to try again and again in order to become successful. He also takes inspiration from the book "Bhagavad Gita." He says his father is also a role model to him, as his father was dedicated to work, which inspires him to work.

Talking about leadership, PC says he is not a born leader, but he wanted to lead people in order to grow with them. He believes things work two ways, which includes participation by both parties, and that is a sign of a good leader.

If he gets a time machine to go back in time and is given a chance to change something in his life, PC says he would not make any changes.

When advising young doctors, PC says becoming a doctor is a long process as they have to study a lot in this profession. This profession also comes with a huge amount of accountability, so anyone who wants to join the field needs to be responsible and should have a passion to serve society.

PC’s life mantra is "Do your best, let God do the rest."

PC’s leisure activities include ironing clothes,  polishing shoes, and celebrating Holi with colors.
