If you are going through hell, keep going and never give up.
Payal Parmar comes from Udaipur, Rajasthan. She has done her graduation from Meera Girls College in Udaipur. Currently she is pursuing her B.Ed. from Kota. At a very young age of merely two years, Payal suffered the unfortunate demise of her mother. Though she has a very loving combo of her elder sister and father, she still grieves the loss of her mother.
Payal recalls that her childhood was tough because, after the loss of her mother she also had to part with her father and sister, as her sister had to pursue her higher studies in Udaipur and her father used to work in another city. So she was sent to her village to do her schooling. There she used to live with her grandparents and aunt. She did not enjoy much moral support from her family but she kept herself composed. And in the tenth standard, she stood first in her school. This was a life changing achievement for Payal, because after coming first she got quite famous in her village and most importantly her father got to know of her potential. Consequently, her father sent her to Udaipur to pursue higher studies in the science stream. After completing her 10+2, she got admission in Meera Girls college.
The third year of college brought another incredible opportunity to her. Her seniors wanted her to be the student-president of her college union, with which she enthusiastically complied. But another quadantry was looming around the corner for her. In the final year of her graduation Covid struck and a complete lockdown was imposed all across the country. It was a desperate situation, especially for her since she wanted to go to her village as it would have been easy for her there but she and her elder sister were stuck in Udaipur only.
It became more and more difficult for her with the financial condition of her family deteriorating day by day. She recalls with a deep regret that her father was not able to come home as he needed to earn for the family and there were times when he wouldn't eat for days on end and work tirelessly to provide for his children. She was shaken to know this and decided that one day she would become so able that his family will never have to suffer again. She was also disturbed by the terrible conditions faced by the people who suffered the death of their loved ones due to covid.
Payal’s role model is Dy. SP Prem Dhande who is incharge of Udaipur district. She aspires to become like her because Payal feels a sort of connection with her as she comes from a place where female foeticide and crimes against women are very common, yet she faced all odds to reach this reputed post.
Payal strives to have a never give up attitude and face every problem with an unparalleled fighting spirit. She strongly believes that the bitter the problem you face, the sweeter the success would taste. She advises girls to not care about the opinion of criticizers and focus on working hard towards their goals. She is sure that wherever she goes and whatever she does, she will make her family and her village proud.
