Pawan Jangid is a National Award-Winning Sandalwood Carving Artist from Churu, Rajasthan. He is living his life with utmost simplicity while carrying his family's artistic traditions to new horizons.

Recalling his childhood, Pawan describes it as quite normal, filled with the joy of playing games with his friends. However, his curiosity and lack of focus on studies led him to engage deeply in his family's traditional art of sandalwood carving. This art form has been passed down through generations in his family. Pawan's grandfather was the pioneer, followed by his father, and now Pawan and his brothers are the torchbearers of this rich legacy.

Pawan started learning the art of wood carving from his elders during his childhood. He spent countless hours honing his skills, guided by the expertise of his grandfather and father. Pawan’s elder brother played a significant role in his artistic development, teaching him everything he now knows about the craft. This family-centric apprenticeship has been crucial in preserving and advancing their unique style of sandalwood carving.
