Parmanand Motiani has significantly impacted the training landscape by equipping B.Tech and diploma students with advanced skills in industrial automation. Since launching his startup in 2008, he has addressed the skill gap in manufacturing industries, developed professional labs, and received the ‘Best Training Award’ from the Vidhan Sabha Speaker. Recognized as a leading entrepreneur in Ajmer, Motiani has successfully trained students across Rajasthan and provided crucial training to companies like LifeSolar.

Parmanand Motiani is the founder of Mecstech Industrial Training Center Pvt Ltd in Ajmer, which offers specialized training to B.Tech and engineering diploma students. The center bridges the gap between academic curricula and industry requirements by providing advanced technology training in line with current trends, such as Industry 4.0, where automation is the key. Mecstech equips students with hands-on experience in industrial automation, catering to engineering students and those seeking industry exposure.

Talking about his early days, Motiani says he completed his B.Tech in 2008 and was placed through campus recruitment at an UltraTech Cement Plant, where he observed the entire technology running on the CCR control system. He quickly realized that while many individuals had degrees, they lacked the necessary skill sets for manufacturing industries. Determined to bridge this gap, he launched his startup in 2008 itself, aiming to provide the industry with trained employees equipped with practical, in-demand skills.

As he began, he worked on various aspects such as maintenance, programming, and final design for different companies. They soon realized that while there were plenty of jobs available, there was a shortage of skilled manpower. This realization led him to develop and implement his concept.

Highlighting his achievements, Motiani shares that they developed professional labs for colleges that lacked such facilities and provided placements for students, earning them the ‘Best Training Award’ from the Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Vasudev Devnani. His company has been recognized as a leading player in Ajmer for two consecutive years in the field of entrepreneurship and has also received awards from the MSME organization.

When asked about his inspiration for becoming an entrepreneur, Parmanand Motiani shares that he conducted surveys in various factories, plants, and industrial areas. He noticed that many relied on external companies for maintenance services, which was costly. While large companies with significant turnover could afford these services, small businesses like MSMEs often struggled to keep their production running. Recognizing this gap, Motiani and his team analyzed the situation and began working on a solution to ensure that small-scale industries could access the necessary skill sets and stay connected with advanced technological trends.

Remembering his childhood, Parmanand Motiani says he was born and brought up in Ajmer where he also completed his schooling. Though his parents had a government job, there were people from his family who were into business. Inspired by them, Motiani also decided to try something of his own considering his expertise in the technical field. Having identified the market gaps at the right time, he knew he was on the right path. So, Motiani first completed his MBA from Symbiosis Institute followed by gaining experience at ISS UK, where they used to provide training to NTPC engineers. He derived many learnings from his job and eventually started his own venture.

Initially, Motiani faced challenges in launching his venture due to a lack of available technology in the market. However, he persevered and has been successfully running his company for the past 13–14 years in Ajmer. His team has trained students from across Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Jaipur, and Kota, from both private and government colleges. Additionally, they have provided industrial automation training to LifeSolar company.

When asked about his role models, Motiani says he draws inspiration from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who reached heights with limited resources and encouraged the youth to rely on technology for national growth and development.

In his message to young professionals, Motiani says, "In a company, work can be divided into two categories: technical and non-technical. If you possess skills in both areas, you can become a one-man army for the company. Companies need programmers to operate machines, and if you can handle everything from designing to programming and fill the gaps, you will secure a good job and be a strong asset to the company.
