Pankaj Sharma, Project Director at Koshish, an NGO, focuses on education, medicine, and safety, establishing schools, raising awareness, and providing employment for the nation's progress.

Pankaj Sharma is serving as a Project Director at Koshish - an NGO that works in the fields of education, medicine, and safety across the country. Besides, it also works on imparting skill-based education to the youth.

Hailing from Kota, Pankaj spent his childhood in the city and completed his formal education in Kota. Despite his government-employed parents, he began earning pocket money by giving tuition and selling candies and kites in 6th grade. Growing up, he was a mischievous child, often causing the school principal to call his parents for his mischief. However, Pankaj claimed he excelled in mathematics and would make his parents meet his teacher to avoid scolding.

He completed B.Com., M.Com., M.A. in Economics, BJMC, MSW, etc. Pankaj was interested in journalism, so while pursuing his BJMC, he worked for the Navbharat Times, Jaipur. On his mother's recommendation, he opened the Kota Bal Vidhyalaya in Kota in 1989. After meeting an IAS officer in Delhi in 1990, Pankaj changed the name of his school to Kota Shikshan Sansthan and turned it into an NGO. Later, he shortened it to Koshish.

By working with the Labour Department in New Delhi, Pankaj has established schools to provide education to impoverished children under the auspices of his NGO. He has also raised awareness about road safety. In addition, he worked on adolescent skill development and helped many men and women find employment.

Pankaj says that from the beginning, he always wanted to work; making money was never his objective. Owing to his honest attitude, he kept getting opportunities to work in the social sector. Today, it has been thirty-two years of him working in the social sector.

Pankaj, a spiritual individual, enjoys worship, reading, and listening to old songs to stay updated on current affairs. He advises the youth to pursue self-sufficiency and provide employment to others instead of aspiring for government jobs, as this will ensure their and the nation's progress.
