Pankaj coordinates projects for Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti and facilitates liasoning between the Government Offices and NGOs. He tries creative ideas in the NGO projects to achieve the desired result.

Pankaj Kumar Paliwal is working as Program Director-Rural Development in the NGO, Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti in Udaipur.

Pankaj says that their NGO has prepared a GIS-based Composite Water Resource Management Plan for the entire district of Dungarpur. He says that all the key persons of the Gram Panchayat such as the Sarpanch, Ward Panchs, Members of the Panchayat Samiti, District Council members and Zila Parishad members along with the officers of the administration have been involved in their project They are working on their plan in ten blocks covering 353 Gram Panchayats which include 979 revenue villages.

They organised time to time meetings with the Agriculture, Irrigation and Animal Husbandry Departments at the district level, conducted workshops and incorporated their feedback in the comprehensive plan which was presented to the District Collector.

Pankaj belongs to Morath village of Mavli Tehsil in Udaipur. He did his schooling from there itself. He did LLB from MLSU, Udaipur. He has also done an MA in Geography.

Pankaj considers Dr. Jagdish Purohit as his role model as he has been working in this field for a long time and with his  innovative ideas, he has created  a complete cadre for the cause.

Pankaj says that even during Covid-19, they worked for the development of the entire area. He says that they put in their presence wherever they could reach physically and at other places they worked by using different methods of technology. They worked in the virtual mode and from time to time gave solutions to the problems. Along with that, they also conducted training programs for rural development as per the circumstances.

Pankaj says that if someone wants to come into the work of an NGO or do research in it, then he advises them to first get a basic qualification. Then it is important for you to have a knowledge of technology because you have to move forward by changing with time. You should also have a passion to do this work because it is a challenging task.

When Pankaj is not working, he likes to learn something related to Technology, Research, Law or Geography and tries to incorporate innovative methods into his work.
