Pallavi Mahara is an actor from Kathmandu, Nepal. She is currently working in the Mumbai film industry.
Pallavi shares that in her childhood she did not know much about acting but always wanted to become a heroine. When she was fifteen years old, she completed a diploma course of one and a half years from an acting school in Nepal, and started working in TV serials, ads, music videos, etc. Then she decided to shift to Mumbai in order to grow more in this field. She went to Mumbai in 2019 and took admission at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares Academy.
Talking about her journey, Pallavi says that there are both positive and negative phases in every field. She faced many struggles in the film industry, as she had been working in this field for the last six years but didn’t achieve the level she wanted. There are some negative people and things that restrict her growth. But, the positive thing is that she follows her passion and works towards fulfilling her dream of being an actor.
When asked about her challenges, Pallavi says that her parents always supported and encouraged her in her journey. But on the other hand, some friends were not so supportive, so she faced difficulties explaining her hard work in this industry. She completed her twelfth in Nepal and then started taking education about film acting, so people and her relatives criticised her as well as her family for not completing higher studies. She also faced many rejections in this field. She feels blessed to have the support of her parents.
Accepting her mistakes, Pallavi says that when she was in the eleventh standard, she got suspended from her college because of her frequent breaks and for being bad in studies. But she hid this truth from her family, and one day she decided to leave her home. But, after leaving the house, she realised many things and she came back home and confessed everything about her mistakes to her mother. Afterwards, she came to know about the film school and decided to join it as she was not able to understand studies and wanted to become an actor. She regrets this mistake but also loves it because she learned a lot from it.
Sharing her achievements, Pallavi says that when she played a role in the TV serial Kumkum Bhagya, people and relatives used to call her mother to appreciate her work. That was a proud moment for her to make her mother feel happy and proud. Recently, she is also doing Heeramandi, a web series with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and has also done many ads, theatre, music videos, webseries, etc.
Pallavi’s role models are Shah Rukh Khan and herself, as she worked hard and made her own way.
To beat stress, Pallavi eats a lot, cries, and sleeps. She says that sometimes she ignores things and sometimes she tries to sort out the problems. She likes to have conversations with herself to attain mental peace.
Pallavi’s life mantra is to enjoy life thoroughly in any situation. She likes to go with the flow and be happy.
In her spare time, Pallavi likes to talk, sing, play football, and explore things. She also loves to watch movies and web series.
Advising aspirants to her field, Pallavi says to not expect anything from anyone. It is important to keep expectations to yourself only. Patience, hard work, and dedication are required in this field.
