Padmaja dreamt of becoming a teacher at a very young age and on the strength of her hard work, she made her dream come true. Besides, she likes to contribute to society in any way she can and loves to get engaged in philanthropic activities.

Padmaja Behera works as a Teacher at Jagran Public School, Noida. She has been working in the teaching profession for the past thirteen years.

Padmaja hails from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She says that due to her father’s government job, she lived in different cities in Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar. She did her schooling mostly from Odisha.

Recalling her childhood, she says she had a disciplined childhood under the guidance of her father. She says she had the desire to become a teacher and she became one. As a student, she was actively engaged in extra-curricular activities along with being good at studies, she says.

Talking about her role models, Padmaja says she considers her father as her role model for imbibing good values in her and for being hardworking and patient. Her husband is also his role model for being progressive and supporting her to grow in her profession. She also draws inspiration from her children.

Regarding her achievements, Padmaja says that despite starting her career very late, her students consider her a motherly figure and respect her a lot which is an achievement for her.

In her spare time, Padmaja enjoys helping her students in their extra-curricular activities and guiding them. She also loves gardening and writing besides being an avid reader. In addition, she likes to spend some time alone and introspect.

Advising the youth, Padmaja tells them to be disciplined to achieve what they want to achieve. She adds that the more dedicated and passionate you will be towards your goal, the fewer obstacles will come your way, and the sooner you will be able to achieve success.
