Despite his visual impairment, Om Prakash learned to read and write in Braille and retired from a distinguished 37-year government service. He is still serving as secretary of the Dev Drishti Vikas Sansthan.

Following an outstanding 37-year service, Om Prakash Agrawal retired from the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation. He is now volunteering at the Dev Drishti Vikas Sansthan as a General secretary. Under the wings of the Dev Drishti Vikas Sansthan, Om Prakash facilitates education for students in grades 1 through 8. In addition, he additionally teaches computer literacy to adults and children to help them become employable.

Om Prakash was born in a village forty kilometers from Jaipur. He finished school in his hometown. Om Prakash was born with an eye disease that deteriorates with age and impaired his vision. He, however, never let his disability prevent him from pursuing a degree. He obtained his high school diploma. After graduating from high school, he learned about the Braille script and utilized it to complete his subsequent assignments. In 1978, he earned his bachelor's degree.

Om Prakash specifies that when he finished his bachelor's course, his family's financial situation was not good. At the time, his mother was unwell. And in order to provide for his family, it became crucial that he got a job. He made numerous job applications. He eventually secured employment at RSRTC.

Om Prakash shares that, due to his vision impairment, when he started his first job, there were concerns about his ability to perform the duties of the position. But Om Prakash was determined, and he suggested to the RSRTC's then-director that he be placed on probation for six months, with the option to be hired on a full-time basis if his performance turned out to be satisfactory. He had some difficulties at first, but he continued with everyone's support.

Om Prakash regards his father as an inspirational figure. According to him, he once received criticism for his work, and the following day, he was afraid to show up for work. His father could sense the fears of Omprakash. His father advised him that people who work will only be the focus of complaints because it is a given that people who work will make mistakes. Moreover, his father counseled him to avoid making the same mistakes  twice.

Om Prakash confides that there were not many resources available to him. He even had trouble getting someone to read his lessons orally. However, he continues, there are not as many issues today because of recorders and other technological tools that help the blind and visually challenged.

Om Prakash notes that children nowadays are becoming inactive and complacent due to the development of technology. He counsels them to work hard and refrain from becoming lazy.

Om Prakash concludes by advising all of us to send the kids who are differently abled to schools created just for them and to make sure they get the right education.
