Nupur Jain is a computer science engineer. Currently, she is working as a Director of Marketing Analytics at a Silicon Valley-based startup.
Reminiscing about her childhood, Nupur says that she was born and raised in a joint family. As a kid, she was equally good at her studies and extracurricular activities. She would regularly participate in sports, dance, and singing.
Nupur chose the science and maths stream in high school and relocated to a different city to prepare for the IIT-JEE exam. She later came to the realization that IIT-JEE was not her thing, but it was too late to switch to a different stream. Still, she took the entrance exams but was not able to crack them. So, without wasting her time, this time she enrolled in and graduated with a B.Tech in computer science from Geetanjali College of Technical Studies, which became one of the best decisions of her life. She met wonderful mentors and classmates there who played a significant role in shaping her personality and career.
Following her realization that programming was not what she wanted to do, Nupur tried her hand at event management, talent acquisition, etc. during her engineering studies. She eventually developed a passion for digital marketing and went full-time in that field.
During the COVID pandemic, Nupur decided to make a switch to the analytics domain, and she got the role of Director of Marketing Analytics. On the professional front, COVID was a good time for her. She got to explore technologies and think about how they were going to evolve over time. On the personal front, COVID was devastating for her, as it affected her both mentally and physically. During this time, she was back in her hometown and had time to be with her family.
Speaking about her achievements, Nupur says her grandparents and parents are happy with what she is doing in her life and the person she has become, and she considers it her achievement.
When asked about her role models, Nupur says instead of having a single person as her role model, she learns from the people around her and adopts the best traits of them.
If Nupur could go back in time, she would advise her younger self not to overthink and worry about the future. Instead, she would just be in the present and enjoy the moment.
When Nupur is not working, she likes to indulge herself in cooking, singing, dancing, etc., depending on her mood. Besides, she also likes to explore new avenues and read a lot. Nupur believes that exploring new avenues and reading a lot helps her to broaden her horizons and gain new perspectives. She finds joy in discovering different interests and expanding her knowledge through various hobbies and activities.
To the youth, Nupur says one must explore different fields to know exactly what their true passion is and what they enjoy doing. By trying out different hobbies and activities, they can discover hidden talents and develop a well-rounded personality. Nupur believes that this exploration is crucial for personal growth and self-discovery, as it allows individuals to find their true calling and pursue a fulfilling career path.
Advising the youth, Nupur says that instead of seeking external validation, individuals should focus on their abilities and instincts. Focusing on personal goals and aspirations can lead to success and fulfillment. This mindset empowers individuals to take control of their lives and make choices that align with their true passions and desires, thereby overcoming the limitations of social media.
