Nitesh Meghwal is a professional photographer specializing in weddings and portfolio shoots. Nitesh captures Indian weddings, foreign weddings, and celebrities' weddings, and he has even done shoots in China. He runs his family business, Nitesh Photo Flash, in Udaipur.
Nitesh was named after his father's studio, “Nitesh Photo Flash.” Born and raised in Udaipur, his father works as a government officer, his mother is a homemaker, his brother is studying at IHM, and his sister is preparing for civil service exams.
His passion for photography began in the 7th grade, when he first visited his father's studio and held a camera. From that moment on, he started learning the art of photography under his father's guidance. Nitesh often accompanied his father on shoots, learning essential skills and insights along the way. He believes that creativity is key to being a good photographer and emphasizes the importance of understanding clients' needs and preferences. By observing and learning from his father, Nitesh developed his expertise and unique style.
He shares that his grandfather taught Nitesh’s father to do their work with the utmost passion and dedication. Thus, he passed on the same learnings to Nitesh and asked him to choose a profession that interests him the most.
Nitesh shares his success mantra, emphasizing the importance of client satisfaction in photography. He believes photographers should always focus on meeting their clients' expectations and avoid repetitive designs. Nitesh doesn't see himself in a typical 9-to-5 job, as he has always seen himself as a natural leader. Since the 7th grade, he has been working in photography and has always aspired to build a career in it.
For aspiring photographers, Nitesh advises prioritizing creativity over making money initially. He suggests gaining thorough knowledge of the field and mastering the art of understanding and convincing clients rather than merely making money out of it. Photographers should make their clients feel comfortable and confident in their appearance. Further, he shares that if a couple is healthy, it is a photographer's job to make them comfortable with their beautiful looks and appearances. Secondly, to make them comfortable, the photographer himself must know about the angles and how to take the perfect shots.
Photographer Nitesh shares that during the wedding season, they work around the clock, requiring utmost dedication. He recommends attending award shows to observe the types of photographs taken and participating in workshops to continually upgrade skills. Nitesh regularly meets with leading photographers in India, exchanging ideas through this platform. He believes that there is no limit to learning in photography, as it offers endless possibilities. Equipment, trends, and poses are constantly evolving, necessitating ongoing adaptation.
He feels very content with his profession, and it is helping him grow in life. He advises budding photographers to keep working in this field with hard work and determination, so they will achieve what they truly deserve.
Nitesh likes to travel to new places. He has explored almost the whole of India for photography. He has a team of 25 members, and they have done some international shoots in Dubai and China as well. Thus, he likes travelling as well.
Nitesh fondly recalls his childhood, helping his father at the photo studio in his free time. His father was a government officer and also owned the studio. His school teachers and relatives recognized his interest in photography and supported his passion.
Back then, many people believed photography could only be a hobby, not a full-time career. Nitesh challenges this myth by revealing that during wedding seasons, their charges range from 1.50 lakhs to 30 lakhs for a wedding photoshoot. He urges people to appreciate the profession and the hard work behind it.
Talking about the importance of education and experience in the field of photography, Nitesh believes that practical knowledge is a must after pursuing education. Talking to clients, conversing with international clients, etc. requires a good education in this field. Similarly, the on-the-ground experience is of utmost importance to showcase their skills and deliver quality work to the clients.
During the COVID pandemic, Nitesh continued his work in various ways. He noticed that many people faced severe losses, and some photographers even committed suicide. Despite the negative impact, the pandemic allowed him to spend more time with his family and make interesting recipes at home.
Nitesh enjoys humming his favourite songs, "Bade Acche Lagte Hai" and "Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna," which bring him joy and relaxation.
