Nitesh Mali is the owner of Royal Flower Decoration in Udaipur. He has been doing flower decoration for the past five years now.
Nitesh was born and raised in Udaipur.
Recollecting his childhood, Nitesh says that he was a mischievous child and would often be scolded by his father. Besides, he is reminiscent of playing with friends. He also adds that he would help his father in his farming work. Furthermore, he would also milk his cattle and help his parents in their gardening work.
Nitesh shares that his father, who would own a general store, later started selling garlands made of flowers. He too would assist his father in his work and would deliver garlands from door to door on his bicycle. Later, his father suggested that he start a business of flowers. Upon his father’s suggestion, he set up his own shop where he would sell flowers and garlands. Gradually, he also started flower decoration work. And it’s been five years since he has been doing this work.
Nitesh acknowledges that because of his father’s support, he has been able to take his business to its current level.
To people aspiring to start their own business of selling flowers, Nitesh advises them to have a thorough knowledge of flowers to be able to handle their customers in a better way. Besides, he advises them to treat their staff nicely because if they treat their staff nicely then they will do their work dedicatedly which in turn will also grow their business.
Nitesh thinks that in the gardening line of work, education is essential but experience is more important.
In his spare time, Nitesh likes to go on long drives with his wife and spend time with his family. Besides, he also likes to watch movies and visit places.
Reviewing his COVID experience, Nitesh says that many people had to face problems during the pandemic. Schools and colleges were shut down. Besides, he says, in light of the pandemic, weddings and other events were not happening, and owing to that he had to shut his flower business and take to farming and milking his cattle instead. However, he says that when things started to normalize, he resumed his flower business and has been continuing it ever since.
