A classical dance performer, Nitaben is the owner of a dance academy which also teaches Sanskrit. She always had an inclination towards dance and took formal education in the same after her marriage.

Nitaben Bharatkumar Vyas is a Classical Dance Teacher and Choreographer. She has been running her own academy by the name Shambhavi Vidyapith for the past twenty five years.

Nitaben says that she always had an inclination towards music and dance and an inclination towards learning classical art. Hence when she got an opportunity to follow the same, she pursued the same and completed her ‘Visharad’ and ‘Alankar’ from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

Nitaben shares that her father was a multi-talented person. He was a learned personality in Sanskrit and even wrote poetry in Sanskrit and Gujarati. She recalls him reading to her creations like ‘Abhigyan Shakuntalam’ and ‘Kadambari’ during her vacations. Also, many saints used to visit their home and hence she feels that the seed of culture and tradition was already sown in her from her early days. Nitaben says that they were economically sound and she did a B.Sc. along with learning dance.

Nitaben says that when she came to Surat after marriage, she realized that people were taking proper education in the art field as well. Hence, she decided to take formal education in the field and hence, with the support of her husband, she completed ‘Sangeet Visharad’.

Nitaben believes that with good understanding and time management, one can achieve any goal they desire in life. She feels that we should not complain and focus on finding our own way.

When asked about her achievements, she feels that many girls were not even aware of the field of art and she helped them be aware of the same. She has also worked as a judge in many youth festivals as well.

Talking about her role models, Nitaben says that her father is her role model. Her father was an expert in languages like Sanskrit, English and even in the field of music. He was the one to teach her to find her own path in life. He also used to advise her to be humble and never have an attitude in life.

Nitaben says whenever she is stressed, she reads the Gita to calm herself down. She also tries to understand the point of views of other people as well in cases of conflicts.

When asked about her life mantra, she says that ‘forgive and forget’ and never get influenced by anyone is her life mantra.
