Nishit Jain’s journey is deeply rooted in the city of education, Kota, in Rajasthan, where he was born and raised. Growing up in an academically driven environment, Nishit Jain completed his schooling at Modern Senior Secondary School, Kota, where he not only excelled in academics but was also an active member of the school’s swimming team. This blend of academics and extracurricular activities instilled in him a well-rounded approach to learning and personal development.

Kota’s reputation as a hub for preparing for Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) JEE and Pre-Medical Test (PMT) naturally set high expectations, but Nishit candidly admits that he wasn’t inclined toward the intense rigor of IIT-level studies. Instead, he pursued his own path by cracking the Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) and securing admission to Poornima College of Engineering, one of Jaipur’s leading private engineering colleges, known for its excellence in civil engineering. In 2008, Nishit Jain began his journey in civil engineering at Poornima College of Engineering, an experience he fondly recalls as transformative. The college offered state-of-the-art labs, exceptional faculty, and an environment that fostered both learning and growth.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Nishit’s thirst for knowledge led him to National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), Pune, a premier institute for construction management courses. In 2018, he successfully completed a Post Graduate Program in Advanced Construction Management (PGP-ACM), which significantly enhanced his expertise in the field. Recognizing the need for continuous learning, Nishit pursued a second master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, during the COVID-19 era. This decision was driven by his commitment to staying updated in his field and expanding his understanding of sustainable and innovative engineering practices.

Before joining Techno NJR Institute of Technology, Nishit Jain gained valuable experience in various roles. He began his professional journey in Jaipur, teaching undergraduate courses while simultaneously working as a consultant for CADD Centre Training Services. Here, he developed expertise in cutting-edge civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, 3ds Max, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). These roles allowed him to hone his teaching skills while staying connected to industry advancements.

He emphasises that the challenges and "pain" one endures to accomplish their goals often surpass all other factors in significance.

In 2019, he faced a devastating health crisis when he was afflicted by a deadly disease. The situation was dire—he was on a ventilator for four months, rendered almost lifeless and completely paralysed. Reflecting on that period, he describes himself as "just a body without air inside it." The recovery process was grueling, both physically and emotionally, but emerging from it became a testament to his resilience and determination.

Jain humbly acknowledges that his survival and recovery were not achieved in isolation. He credits every individual who stood by him during that challenging time—his parents, family, extended family, colleagues, and especially his Techno NJR family. Their unwavering support, which went far beyond expectations, played a pivotal role in his journey back to health.

This life-changing experience has motivated Nishit Jain to extend his support to others battling similar illnesses. He feels a sense of responsibility to give back and help those facing such challenges. He firmly believes that while problems are an inevitable part of life, it is one’s response to these adversities that defines the outcome. He shares a powerful message: "Problems will always come your way, but you must keep walking and striving to achieve something better.”

He encourages students to take up civil engineering without hesitation or fear, even if the branch may not appear as lucrative or mainstream as others at first glance. “Though we do not see direct job opportunities like in other branches, and there are no multinational corporations directly involved, yet civil engineering offers immense potential,” he explains.

He highlights that the field involves both direct and indirect opportunities and emphasises its inherent fascination. “It is an amazing experience to see a structure evolve from nothing into a finished masterpiece, whether it’s the Burj Khalifa, the Atal Setu, or the Statue of Unity,” Jain shares passionately. For him, civil engineering is more than just a profession—it’s a way to contribute meaningfully to society by creating infrastructure that defines progress and innovation.

Nishit Jain advises prospective students to approach civil engineering with vigour and courage, rather than seeking a conventional or overly comfortable career path. “Do not look for a cozy, air-conditioned environment. Embrace the challenges, and you’ll discover how rewarding this field can be,” he says.
