Nishant Mittal is a musician and entrepreneur based in Delhi. He started his first venture in his first year of college and was able to scale it to crores in revenue. Currently, he is building another venture of his named Spot Health, to help people live a happier and healthier lifestyle.
Nishant was born and raised in Delhi. He did his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi itself.
Nishant shares that he did his engineering from a decent college but it was not as famous as other top engineering colleges in India. And it prompted him to create a platform to bring together other colleges of the same stature so that potential employers could know that students at these colleges were no lesser than those at the top engineering colleges. Besides, he is also building a community-driven platform, Spot Health, to motivate people to take to a healthier and happier lifestyle
Nishant also shares that he is a musician and has been playing the guitar and drums for the past seventeen years. As a musician, his first song titled “Kashmir” which was based on the situation in Kashmir, was an absolute hit and it got the attention of many celebrities as well. Furthermore, he is a voracious reader and has got an indescribable penchant for reading and writing.
When asked about his leisure activities, Nishant says that he is mostly absorbed in doing his work, be it running his startups or producing music, and owing to that he barely gets any free time.
Sharing his COVID experience, Nishant says that COVID was a tough time for him as everything had come to a standstill. During the pandemic, he produced his song named ‘Khwahish’ which was a hit. Besides, he says that his startups suffered a bit due to the pandemic. But, he tried to make the best out of the situation by reading, writing and doing things that he loved.
When asked about his role models, Nikhil says that he considers Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, his role model. Besides, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, an Indian businessman is also his role model.
Nishant thinks that more than any formal education, it’s an individual’s willingness to learn and try out new things and life experiences that are more important.
To aspiring entrepreneurs and musicians, Nishant advises them to surround themselves with like-minded people to learn from them. Besides, he advises them to do what they love to do as at the end of the day, they will be known for their work only.
Talking about his challenging times, Nishant shares that initially, his songs were not getting the traction he desired and it was quite challenging for him as a musician. However, he acknowledges that his friend Ankita pitched his songs to relevant people and thus people started reaching out to him and noticing his pieces of music.
