Founder of Times of Computer, Nirmal Kashyap transformed his love for technology and teaching into a mission to spread computer literacy. Overcoming village struggles to build a skill-based institute, he empowers students with technology, values, and future-ready careers.

Nirmal Kashyap is the Director of Times of Computer, an institute that has been providing computer education in Dewas for a long time. Along with his dedicated team, he has been offering various computer courses with a strong focus on skill development and employability.

Times of Computer provides a wide range of courses such as BCA, PGDC, Tally, and CPCT. In addition to these, the institute has recently introduced job-oriented and industry-relevant programs, including Digital Marketing, Python Full Stack Development, Java Full Stack Development, and Tally Prime with GST, among others.

All these courses are designed with a clear objective—to help students secure good jobs at the right age. Along with employability, the institute’s broader vision is to promote computer literacy wherever they operate. Their goal is to ensure that people learn computers, develop skills, become capable, and achieve stable careers. Their goal is to increase computer literacy wherever they operate. He observes that countries which are technologically advanced move ahead faster. With better adoption of technology, development follows naturally. His vision is to strengthen technological learning so that the country, city, district, and villages can all grow together.

Nirmal Kashyap’s interest in the teaching field began soon after he completed his 12th standard. It was at this stage that he learned to use a computer for the first time. The experience made him feel comfortable and confident, and he realized that learning computers was much easier compared to many other forms of study. While other subjects often felt complex, computer education appeared practical and simple, which deeply attracted him.

His interest grew further, and while most students moved into the first year of college after Class 12, he began teaching during his first year itself. He was fortunate to have a mentor and guru who trained him well. Within six months of learning, he started training students under the same guidance.

Throughout his graduation, he continued teaching while constantly upgrading his own skills and knowledge. After completing graduation, he briefly explored other career options and sectors, considering jobs in different fields. However, none of them gave him satisfaction.

After completing both graduation and post-graduation, he reflected deeply and decided that guiding students in the field of computers was his true calling. With technology rapidly evolving, one thing became very clear to him—that without computers and technology, it is impossible to progress, whether one is an employee, a businessman, a student, or even a homemaker. Computer knowledge has become essential for everyone.

Recognizing this need, he laid the foundation of Times of Computer in Dewas in 2020, and the institute has now successfully completed five years. Looking ahead, the institute’s core mission remains unchanged—to ensure that more and more people learn computers and secure employment.

Before opening the institute, he discussed the idea with his mentor and guru, firmly believing that nothing meaningful happens without a teacher’s blessings. With his guru’s encouragement and guidance, he moved forward confidently.

Choosing the name for the institute was another thoughtful process. Many people suggested using his own name or options like Kashyap Computer Coaching Academy. However, one day, while reading the newspaper The Times of India, he found inspiration. Since it is a globally recognized newspaper, the idea struck him instantly. He chose the name Times of Computer, symbolizing that this is truly the era of computers—and that this era will only grow stronger in the future.

When asked why he chose to open a computer institute, he explains that after completing B.Sc. in Computer Science, he aimed to pursue MCA from NIT. He appeared for the entrance exam, got selected, and was ready to move—most likely to a college in South India. However, he did not feel happiness or satisfaction about restarting another 3–4-year academic journey.

He realized that during the three years he spent teaching earlier, he felt deeply fulfilled and could teach for even ten hours without exhaustion. That clarity made him skip MCA and instead open his own computer center.

His decision had two strong reasons. First, he wanted to support his family independently. Second, he wanted to contribute to society and leave a meaningful impact. Instead of spending money on further education, he invested the same amount into starting a coaching institute—benefiting both his family and the community.

He believed that instead of being limited to a small group in a college hostel, he could build a team of thousands and lakhs through education and create employment opportunities.

Talking about his childhood, he recalls growing up in a village near Shivpuri district, where he completed schooling from Class 1 to 5. His father was a teacher at the same school, and from an early age, he received both discipline and guidance at home. He was good in studies and also attended home tuitions.

He remembers a special incident from Class 7, when he would complete homework quickly and was asked by his teacher to sit with Class 8 students. Studying with seniors made him feel confident and motivated, and he enjoyed the respect and affection he received.

Later, he studied at the tehsil level for Class 10. For Class 11, he moved out of the village and stayed with friends. Life became disciplined and demanding—managing studies, cooking, tuition, school, homework, and late-night study schedules. He believes this level of dedication is missing in today’s generation.

After completing Class 12, he used a computer for the first time. Interestingly, there was no formal computer class. One day, he noticed his teacher using a computer and requested him to teach. Along with 3–4 students, he learned computers three days a week. When tested, he scored the highest marks, which made him realize that computer learning becomes easy when practiced, unlike rote learning in traditional subjects.

Encouraged by his teacher, he began teaching computers himself and spent three years teaching at Karera, a tehsil in Shivpuri district—teaching even students older than him. The joy of helping others grow academically gave him immense satisfaction.

He later completed D.Ed., considering government teaching, but chose private education. He then completed M.Sc. in Computer Science from Indore in 2019. Though he tried working in IT companies, share-market firms, and offices, he never felt connected. Teaching remained the only work that gave him purpose and peace.

In 2020, he finally established Times of Computer, where students receive a blend of technology, knowledge, and values.

His role models include his father, who taught with simplicity and patience; Ganesh Sir, his technical guru; and Jitendra Mishra Sir, who shaped his discipline, decision-making, patriotism, and work ethic. Studying under Jitendra Sir, he learned to study up to 14 hours a day, calling that phase the golden period of his life.

He lives by the slogan he created himself:

“Computers are the Power of the Future.”

He explains that while students abroad learn coding as early as Class 5, India still lacks widespread technological exposure. Those who understand this mantra, he believes, will succeed in the future.

Talking about struggles, he compares success to gold—it shines only after enduring pressure. From farming in his village, cycling 10 km daily in Class 9, to managing an exhausting routine during higher studies, challenges shaped him.

The toughest phase came while opening the institute. Without financial support, he approached 20–25 people, but no one helped—not even with ₹5,000. Eventually, with faith and humility, he convinced his father, who arranged ₹50,000.

A senior who had his coaching in Dewas and helped students prepare for government exams there supported him and he mentions that he was the only person who gave him a positive response on his idea of opening a coaching in Dewas.

The institute began with four computers and a rented space where he spent 40,000 - 50,000 for computers and 5000-10000 for the rent.

He firmly believes that once a decision is taken, it should never be abandoned. Hard work, he says, always invites divine support.

He shares an incident from his student life that left a deep and lasting impact on him. Once, during a class, his teacher was discussing different professions. Students were talking about becoming doctors, engineers, accountants, lawyers, collectors, and holding prestigious posts. During this discussion, the teacher said something that immediately caught his attention. The teacher mentioned that there is one profession in the world that is greater than all other professions.

Hearing this, he became very curious and eager to know which profession the teacher was referring to. He asked his teacher why that profession was considered superior to all others. The teacher then explained that a teacher is the creator of every profession. Whether someone becomes a doctor, engineer, businessman, officer, lawyer, or entrepreneur, it is ultimately a teacher who shapes that individual. Without teachers, no profession can exist.

This explanation stayed with him deeply. Later, as he reflected more on it and observed society, he realized that the better the teachers of a country, the stronger and more developed that country becomes. This belief further strengthened his respect for the teaching profession.

Because of this understanding, he strongly advises people who are good at something—whether academics, skills, or knowledge—to consider entering the teaching field. He believes that the kind of environment, respect, love, and satisfaction one receives through teaching cannot be found in any other profession.

He also shares an important principle that he strictly follows at Times of Computer. He does not hire teachers from outside. Instead, he teaches students himself, and those who perform well, understand concepts deeply, and show dedication are gradually prepared to become teachers within the institute itself. This system ensures quality, values, and continuity.

Times of Computer Director Nirmal Kashyap firmly believes that anyone who wants a meaningful, respected, and stable future should consider becoming a teacher, as teaching not only builds careers but also builds generations.
