Nikshay Goswami was born in Nathdwara - a town in southern Rajasthan. Formative years of his life were spent at places in Udaipur and around. He completed his high school in Udaipur. He has also done a Bachelor of Management Studies from Advent Institute of Management Studies in Udaipur.
After completing his college, he worked for Riddhi Siddhi Infra Projects Ltd., Udaipur. He, however, felt that he wasn’t doing what he wanted to do in his life. One day when he was tarvelling with the owner of the company, the owner asked him what he wanted to do in his life. Nikshay said that he wanted to do something in Food Culinary and hence the owner gave him an opportunity to work for hotel Radisson, in Udaipur. He worked for the hotel for 6 months. He worked as a chef and learned a lot. After that he decided to broaden his horizons and discussed with his father that he wanted to go to London to study a diploma in French Culinary. He says that his father has always been very supportive and he supported him this time too. And Nikshay went to London and earned a diploma in French Culinary. Post completion of diploma he wanted to come back to Udaipur and work here only. After coming back to Udaipur he worked for a renowned hotel in Udaipur as a chef. He also handled a few royal weddings in Udaipur. And after six months of working as a chef he left his job and dived into his entrepreneurial pursuit.
Nikshay started his own bakery and named it NIK94 Bakery and Patisserie. Nikshay started with an aim of serving Udaipur a taste it had never tasted before. Nikshay says that his entrepreneurial journey has been a roller- coaster ride. When he started out, he would do a lot of experiments with his products. Often his products would turn out to be different from his expectations and he would have to throw them into trash. Many a time he doubted his own abilities. He would think whether he was doing the right thing in his life?
He would work for more than 17 hours a day. He would miss out on time with his family and friends. But slowly and steadily with the love and support of Udaipur, he kept progressing.
Nikshay believes in providing quality products to his customers. He says that quality over quantity should always be preferred.
Nikshay is of the opinion that education is very important. Education always helps in every pursuit of life. Even if someone wants to start their business, their education will always help. If one has education then it really reduces the time it takes to learn new things. And experience only comes after education.
Nikshay says that he has inherited leadership from his father. His father is also a businessman and has always been very supportive of him.
If he could go back in time and undo something Nikhshay would want to do a degree course in French Culinary right after his high school. He says that had he started early-on he would have done better for himself.
Nikshay considers his mother, Vikas Khanna and Vinesh Johny his inspirations. Vinesh Johny and Vikas Khanna are renowned chefs. Nikshay says that he has learnt a lot from his mother. He would spend time with his mother in the kitchen and learn various tricks of cooking.
Reflecting on his childhood Nikshay shares a memory when once his mother gave him one rupee to buy salt from a grocery store. He was a kid then and went on his tricycle to buy it. It was his first purchasing experience and he still reminisces about it.
Apart from his profession Nikshay likes to spend time with his friends and go on long drives. He also likes to sing and play guitar.
