To turn his childhood passion into a profession, Nikhil, turning down his Engineering career, became a freelance Musician, Composer, Music Programmer and an award winning artist of the industry.

Nikhil Kotibhaskar is a Music Composer and Programmer. He has been associated with the Film, Television and Ad Industry for the past eight years.

Nikhil says that his father is a Musician. So he was very much associated with music since childhood. He did his Masters in Computer Science. But he soon quit his Engineering job to follow his passion. And soon, he converted his passion into his profession. For this, he did a Sound Recording course from the Zee Institute of Creative Art. Then he set up his own studio at home. It’s been eight years since he started working from his own studio and has advanced in his career.

On being asked about his Role Models, Nikhil says that he does not consider a single person as his role model because he learns from every person he meets. But yes, he gets inspired by the Comic character Batman in some or other way.

Nikhil struggled in the initial phase of his career. He started off as a Music Composer but things didn’t work out so he thought of giving up on this field. But he kept himself positive and gradually he could make his short films nominated to the FilmFare National Awards and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. But financially, he always had difficulties in his life.

To aspiring young artists, Nikhil says that it takes a lot of patience and perseverance to learn any form of Art. Further, he says that it is also a challenge to differentiate yourself in the competitive market which can only be done by giving time.

Regarding Leadership, Nikhil says that he does not consider himself as a leader. Instead he likes to work as a team person and a partner. But where there is a need to take an initiative, he does not hold back.
