Nikhil Kasare is a Professional Dancer and Member of Fictitious Dance Group, Mumbai. He feels proud to be its member as they have won multiple titles at national and international levels.
He has been into dancing for the last fifteen years and is making his career in it. He has been teaching Dance for the last six years and has three centers in Mumbai. He also appeared in a Bollywood movie called ‘ABCD’.
Nikhil hails from Mumbai. He did his schooling from St. Augustine’s High School, Nallasopara and Dr. Ambedkar College, Wadala. He says that he has been dancing since childhood and he started his Dance career with Rohan & Group. Gradually, he established himself in this field.
Talking about role models, Nikhil says he considers Remo D’Souza as his role model as because of him, today’s parents let their children choose Dance as their career. In addition, Vanant Monterio and Suresh Mukund are also his role models because they made a lot of efforts to enable him to grow and transform into a professional dancer.
Nikhil says that when the Covid pandemic struck, all the businesses in every field had come to a halt and it had given such a big shock to people that it would take some time for everyone to emerge from it. He says, something similar happened to him too and his five years of hard work that he spent in building his professional dance academy, all came down to zero. But to give a fresh start to all his work and retain his staff, he planned some new things and re-started his classes and hence is getting a good response from people.
About his struggles, Nikhil says that initially his parents didn’t like him spending much time on dance rehearsals and always being passionate about Dance. Instead they wanted him to make a career in academics. But when they saw him on National TV, performing on big platforms with people liking it, they changed their mindset towards Dance.
Talking about his achievements, Nikhil tells us that he has participated in several dance competitions and World Championship in different Dance styles at national and international levels and has won most of them. He participated in several reality shows which is an achievement for him. Along with this, he also made his place in the Top 8 of World HipHop Dance Championship in 2012. Besides, as a part of the ‘Fictitious Group’ they had a dance battle sequel in the movie-ABCD, which is a proud moment for him.
Expressing his disappointment in the young generation, Nikhil says that despite having all the training classes, academies and everything easily available, still they are not taking advantage of it as much as they should. He feels that kids these days don’t care about anything and they are used to spoon feeding. He suggests newcomers to be grateful for what they are getting and start putting in efforts in whatever field they want to make their career in.
