Nidhip Dipesh Shah is a Professor at the SM Patel Institute of Commerce and Head Choreographer at Naadsaad Performing Arts, Ahmedabad.
Nidhip started dancing at the age of three. He teaches western as well as folk styles of dance.
Recalling his childhood, Nidhip says that his childhood was very playful, and his parents never restricted him from doing things. He was also very focused on his studies in his childhood. He got inspiration for dance from his mother, as she is also a dancer, and then he started dancing and got appreciation from others. It was helpful in shaping his whole childhood. He also had wonderful memories with his family, as he enjoyed his childhood moments with his parents and younger brother.
Talking about his journey, Nidhip says that he started dancing at the age of three, but at that time he was not much interested in dance. After giving his first stage performance, he got appreciation and praise from other people, and then his interest developed. Initially, he got his training in western dance from his mother. He also participated in various local competitions at an early age. When he was in eighth grade, he choreographed for his school for the first time and entered the choreography field.
He says when his mother provided him a studio to operate in 2010, he got his largest choreographic assignment. Then he started ND’s dance studio, in which they taught different dance forms to the students. Eventually he started doing his own shows and invited the celebrities from Mumbai to give them tips for improvement. His journey went through local, state, national, and international levels, and now they are preparing for the reality show India’s Got Talent.
Sharing his achievements, Nidhip says that he and his team participated in the national level competition in Bangalore, where they topped India and were called to Portugal for the world level competition to represent India. They won the gold medal in that competition, which is the biggest achievement for him.
Nidhip’s role models are his parents, as he learned dance from his mother, and his father helped and encouraged him in his professional life as a professor. He also admires his gurus, Dinesh Shikari, Hemant Kotekar, and Sanju Acharya. His other role models are Tarun and Shivani.
Nidhip’s life mantra is to conquer his fears and keep growing.
Nidhip advises the young generation to pursue a career in dance, where dedication and continuous practice are required. In the recent scenario, there is a vast scope in this field.
He says that education is also an important part of life, so one should also be focused on it. If one is able to manage their time well, they will undoubtedly attain their objectives.
