Nidhi is an Assistant Professor at Bahrain University and has been working there for more than fifteen years now. She is also a passionate Classical Dancer.

Nidhi S Menon is working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Technology, Bahrain.

Nidhi hails from Kerala but has been residing in Bahrain for the past fifteen years. She says that the journey of her life started from Bahrain itself, where she took her primary education. But after her father’s retirement, they moved to Kerala and she got her remaining education from there. Then she did MBA and got married in Bahrain. Soon she started her career as a Faculty at UTB. Alongside, she did her PhD from there. She got promoted from time to time and continued to grow in this profession.

Talking about her childhood memories, Nidhi says that initially she used to run away from dance and other fun activities in her school. But because Classical Dance is a part of their traditional heritage and culture, it was an important part of the school curriculum too. Gradually, she got inspired by seeing the performers and artists in her school and eventually got inclined towards it.

Regarding her role models, Nidhi considers Kalamandalam Lakshmi as her role model in the field of Classical Dance as because of her positivity and faith in Nidhi, she could learn Dance and continue it. Also, her Tabla master Kalabhavan Unnirajaya is her role model as he always cared for her and motivated her to do something big in life. She takes inspiration from her sister as well for her being the most hard working and dedicated person. Finally her father is her biggest inspiration because he is like a backbone for her as he supports her in every situation and always stands by her.

When asked about her struggles, Nidhi says that before her marriage, she was quite dependent on her family for every decision of her life. After going to Bahrain, she faced a lot of challenges initially because her father was not around and she could hardly decide upon anything. But slowly she began to catch up with things on her own.

Nidhi advises the young generation that no matter what profession you are in, just keep yourself positive, be passionate about your work and move forward in it. She says that if you believe in yourself then you can achieve anything in life. Further she suggests that you should never judge anyone because you never know what that person is going through.

Nidhi loves watching movies and web series in her spare time.
