Do not dwell in the past; do not dream of the future; just be in the present.

Nemi Chand is the Finance Head at Srushti Seva Samiti, an NGO that focuses on the development of agriculture and education in rural areas.
Nemi Chand wishes to work for the betterment of the lives of the farmers and their children, who work hard for society. He believes that the positive steps taken for farmer awareness and agricultural development programs in their district under his guidance brought about positive changes in agricultural practices and the overall welfare of farmers. Monetary help for farmers and compensation for natural disasters and bad harvests are also taken care of. Besides that, education is provided to the underprivileged.
Born in a village near Udaipur, Nemi has many fond memories of playing in childhood. After completing their school education in a government Hindi-medium school, he did his further studies in Udaipur. He also took a CMA course. He faced difficulties due to the course being in English. However, he did not give up and completed his degree. After graduation, he took up a job in a managerial position in Bhilwara. Thereafter, he appeared for other employment examinations and worked at Wolkem India Limited in Udaipur for five years. He then joined the NGO with his colleagues, and he takes great pride in his line of work.
In Nemi’s humble opinion, there is no shortcut to success. Management of the finances and operations of an NGO is a difficult task, but he loves his profession as he wants to work to make a positive difference in society. In his opinion, one should not start an NGO to earn money because profit is not the objective of the NGO.
During COVID 19, Nemi says that most of the work was done through online meetings. Three months later, when they reopened, they adopted the practice of admitting five children for education per day in their organization so as to maintain social distancing and necessary precautions.
Nemi believes education is important as it develops the foundation of a student. In his opinion, the experience gained by elders should be shared in the form of education. He wants to contribute his part to developing the country through his service in education and agriculture. He feels elated that his children are successful today. His two sons are engineers, and his daughter runs her own business. Lastly, he advises us to live in the present and strive to excel in the present.
