A dancer and a choreographer, Neha, after upholding her responsibilities for years, is now giving wings to her dreams and trying to carve out her niche in the world of Kathak and choreography.

Neha Verma is a Kathak dancer and also a choreographer. She is equally adept at folk, Bollywood, freestyle, and semi-classical dance styles. She has been teaching Kathak for years while also running her own dance institute, Gravity Dance Studio. She has been taking offline and online classes for a long time. She has students from a variety of nations, including the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, etc.

Neha was born and brought up in Meerut. She is an MBA graduate. She also has  a Visharad in Kathak (Jaipur Gharana) from Lucknow Bhatkhande Institute as well.

Speaking about her childhood, Neha says she still longs for the times when she and her older brother did all of their childhood adventures together. She also remembers spending winters as a child on roofs with neighboring families. She claims that people today are more reserved, whereas families used to enjoy each day and every festival together in the past.

Talking about her struggles in life, Neha says, after a sudden family crisis, she began working right after her 12th grade examinations to help out with the household duties. While working, she completed all her studies. Learning Kathak dance and choosing it as her new profession was also a great challenge for her. Although she had been interested in dance since she was a little child, she never considered it as a career. She was an active student who used to perform as a dancer at almost all events. She says when she enrolled in an aerobics class, she accidentally returned to dancing. She began learning to dance again during her aerobics lessons, and that is where her dance career actually began.

When Neha talks about her accomplishments, she dwells on the time she had the chance to perform in front of India's most beloved dance reality show judges, Master Remo D'souza and Master Terrence Lewis, and received their great appreciation.

Neha says that the best part of her job is that she always feels upbeat, physically fit, and emotionally balanced. She believes that dancing brings out all your sorrows and empty sentiments. For her, dancing is more like breathing.

When asked which is more important: experience or education, Neha says she believes both are important.

When asked about her role models in life, Neha says that she looks up to one of the most well-known Kathak dancers, Kumar Sharma, as her role model. She wishes to perform Kathak dance to cadence.

Neha says even if she had access to a time machine and could go back in time to make a change in her life, she wouldn't. She wants to work solely as a Kathak dancer and stay in the same line of work.

Neha's piece of advice for young aspirants who want to be choreographers and dancers is to develop discipline. She believes one needs to be versatile and innovative to become a choreographer. She feels that in order to stand out in the tough competition, each choreographer must be able to find inspiration while also coming up with original concepts to make their performances feel fresh.
