Neha More Narang is the Founder and CEO of ‘Diamond Launch’. She launched her company five years ago after deciding to pursue her passion. So far, she has been able to spread her business around the nation. Before this, she worked in corporate companies for eight years.
Neha was born in Bihar and grew up in Surat. She has done her BBA in Finance, M.A. in Economics, and MBA in Marketing from Surat itself. She started her corporate career with HDFC Life Insurance in 2005 as a Sales Manager. She spent eight years learning from the corporate culture to try to use that knowledge to make her business successful. She also completed a course in Diamond Grading for this.
Talking about her aspirations, Neha says that she too wanted to become a CEO after seeing her cousin doing so well. So she did MBA at the age of forty and eventually emerged as the founder and CEO of her own company.
Regarding her struggles, Neha claims that she has experienced many ups and downs in her family since she was young. Due to this, she always had a passion for business because she believes that although a job can help you with your essentials, a business can help you achieve your hopes and dreams.
Explaining her mistakes, Neha says that earlier she used to say anything to anyone without thinking much which hampered her career significantly. But she rectified her mistake as soon as she realized it had grown tremendously.
When asked about her role models, Neha says she considers her parents as her role models because she has learned to be brave and courageous from her father. On the other hand, she has learned managing skills from her mother. Besides, she draws inspiration from her customers.
Neha encourages all the women saying that no matter what you do, you must be financially independent since it fosters self-respect, boosts your morale, and increases your desire to live life.
Speaking of her pastime activities, Neha says she enjoys spending her free time with her kids. Apart from this, she likes drawing, playing board games, going out, having tea with friends, and meeting and chatting with them.
Neha advises new entrants to the diamond industry that while it has a huge market, there are many competitors as well. Therefore, you must establish your niche as soon as you enter the market, or else you’ll risk quickly falling out of the league. She continues, you should do something creative to stand out and develop your own market. She says you can even engage in import and export once you have a strong foothold on the global market.
