There is a voice inside you, listen to it.
Neha Jain was born in Delhi but brought up in Mysore, Karnataka. She completed her studies from Mysore itself. After marriage she came to Udaipur and together with her friend, she co-founded ‘Sahaj Natural Learning Center’ for young children.
Neha complains about our education system because she thinks that the system only prepares students for jobs so that they can secure themselves financially. She feels that it has now become a mere source of business.
After completing her Engineering, Neha started her career at SAP Labs, Bangalore. After working there for two years, she got married and shifted to Udaipur. Coming here, she took over the administration and management of her husband’s business for one-and-a-half years and even worked freelance for one of the software companies in Udaipur. But she couldn’t get satisfaction from anywhere as she always felt something was missing.
Alongside, she was studying different ways of imparting education. That’s when she read about Conscious and Respectful Parenting. And an idea clicked in her mind that why not do something by combining parenting and education. She says that she took this idea seriously and started gathering information about it from multiple resources and finally decided to open a learning space with such an ideology.
Neha shares that Sahaj is a very different and unique concept from that of the commercial ones. So initially, parents were not prepared for this concept and hesitant to send their kids there. But when they came to know about it, they understood that only education does not lead to the development of the child, leaving them to play, having fun and only when they put their mind to anything, their mind will develop. Eventually, this leads to all round development of children. Slowly people are getting aware about it and moving forward, accepting this concept.
Asked about mistakes, Neha says that she was afraid of making mistakes and that prevented her from proceeding further in life and taking decisions. And she feels that because of this, what she is doing today, she could have started a few years ago and today she would have been taking advantage of that.
Talking about role models, Neha says she has admired a lot of people in her life since childhood. First is her father for being a simple man and because he does not care about anyone’s opinion and nothing could influence him. He would stick to his word and do what he wants to do. From her mother, she has learned to be patient and tolerant. She considers her maternal grandmother as her role model for being courageous. Apart from this, her friends are her inspiration because they always stand by her no matter what the situation is.
Neha says she had always been a good scholar in school for which she got many badges and medals.
