Neelam Chaplot is a Science teacher who has been teaching at Stanvard Senior Secondary School for nine years. She began her career as a 6th–8th grade teacher and is now a 9th–10th grade teacher. Besides being a teacher, Neelam is also the exam in charge.
Recalling her childhood, Neelam shares that as a child she always wanted to become a doctor. So she chose the science stream but couldn’t pass the medical entrance exam. Neelam completed her schooling at Guru Nanak Public School, followed by a BSc and an MSc. Meeting her grandfather’s desire, she also did her B.Ed. and later realized the importance of the teaching profession. As the eldest of her siblings, Neelam had certain responsibilities on her shoulders.
After completing her education, Neelam got married and was blessed with two children. However, her desire to have a fulfilling career didn’t end there. So she pulled up her socks and prepared for government exams, but she failed.This was when Neelam came across an opportunity at Stanvard and joined there.
When asked about her role models, Neelam says she draws her inspiration from her mother. She admires her for her hard work and dedication, regardless of her age. Neelam has also learned the importance of punctuality from her father. She is also inspired by her Hindi teacher and admires her for her way of teaching.
If Neelam could go back in time through a time machine, she would go back to her 11th standard and prepare again for the competitive exams to realize her dream of becoming a doctor.
Neelam advises the youth to focus on becoming a better individual and stay disciplined. They should, in her opinion, refrain from using social media excessively.
Neelam advises aspiring teachers to focus on gaining knowledge in order to impart the same to their students.
Neelam is also an avid reader who has been fond of reading since her childhood. She also enjoys gardening, listening to light music, and spending time with her family in her free time.
