Navin is a traditional Tarkashi artist and has learned this art from his father. His complete family is engaged in this work. He is also adapting to the changing market requirements and bringing in new products.

Navin Kumar is a Tarkashi artist from Jaipur.

Navin says that he has been doing this work since he was a child. He is a graduate by education. Navin says that his mother and wife also do this work and that with changing times, traditional products like boxes have transformed to make place for new products according to market demand.

Talking about his role models, Navin says that his father, Mohan Lal Shamra, is his role model. His father received the Shilp Guru Award for 2019, and Navin says that he has learned everything from his father.

Talking about struggles, Navin says that this work results in hardships like being in contact with dust residues for a long time. Also, one requires years to actually perfect the art and work as a professional.

Navin says that whenever he needs a break from work, he goes for a quick walk to refresh himself.
