A young and dynamic girl, Nandini was a bright student in school who chose her career options as per her interests and not the conventional career choices.

Nandini was born and raised in Kota. She completed her school education in Kota itself and then she did her graduation from IGNOU.

Sharing about her childhood, Nandini says that her parents were strict and she was required to inform them whenever she went out. She shares a memory, when on one occasion she went out with her friends to celebrate the birthday of one of her friends. She did not inform her parents about it and they scolded her when she came back home.

Talking about struggles in her life, Nandini shares that she had to go to her school via public transport all by herself right from her second grade. She had to look after herself from a young age as her grandfather was ill and her parents had to look after him. She also had to struggle to convince her parents with regard to her career choices. She was a bright student of Commerce in high school and her parents expected her to pursue CA after completing high school but she wanted to pursue Journalism. She got selected to pursue Journalism but couldn’t pursue it as her parents could not afford the fees. She had to pursue B.Com. and during her first year, she got selected for a scholarship cum graduation programme by Oberoi Group of Hotels and she pursued it and subsequently got her first job at Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur. After that, she worked with Qatar Airways as a Cabin Crew and got to fly to many countries.

During the Covid pandemic, Nandini had come to stay with her family and got stuck here. Owing to the restrictions imposed by the government, she couldn’t fly back and join her job. So she had to switch her profession. She worked with an ed-tech platform and then started working as a professor. But on the personal front, it was a great period for her as she got to spend time with her family after a long time.

To join the airline industry, Nandini advises that one needs to be patient to work in this industry. Besides, one needs to have good communication skills. Furthermore, she adds that there are a lot of challenges involved in working with this industry, but once you get the hang of it, it will be a smooth journey for you.

In her free time, Nandini likes to cook, listen to music and read religious texts.

Nandini considers her mother as her role model who despite all the odds in her life, raised her well.

If Nandini could go back in time, then she would want to relive the time that she spent with her maternal grandfather as she was very close to him.

Nandini shares that to work in the airline industry, your experience matters more than your education.

Nandini was not a born leader. She learnt leadership with time. Her leadership style is that she interacts with her teammates as a friend and not a boss.
