Nafeesa Nathdwara is a passionate teacher working at The Junior Study School in Udaipur.
Nafeesa was born and brought up in Udaipur. She wanted to go to Mumbai after passing the twelfth grade to study Psychology, but she was not able to go because her family didn't allow her. Nevertheless, she stayed here and became a teacher so that she could spend time with young students and understand child psychology on her own.
Nafeesa says that the COVID situation was tough, but she took it in a positive way and found that she learned to tackle Zoom meetings, and her interactive abilities and technical knowledge have improved to the point that she can handle almost everything now with her self-satisfaction and self-love as the priority. Also, she got the chance to spend quality time with her family during the lockdown.
Nafeesa says that in the education field, every day is a learning day. Here, making money is secondary, but teaching and learning are very important, and you get to be a better human being. She says that you won’t be earning lakhs and lakhs of rupees, but you will be getting lakhs and lakhs of love and affection in the education field. While talking about the skills needed to become a good teacher, she says that first of all, you have to be very patient as you’ll be dealing with small kids; you also have to have excellent communication skills; and lastly, you yourself would have to keep learning constantly.
When asked about her role models, Nafeesa doesn’t have any specific role models, but there are many people whose advice has helped her a lot, like her aunt, colleagues, principal, etc. She gets inspiration from her mother and books.
Nafeesa loves to do the work that makes her dirty. She learned from her students that you are happiest when you get dirty and carefree.
Nafeesa misses her childhood and the time she spent with her friends, where everything was just raw, no one had many faces, those late-night parties, a fun-loving attitude, and all the best memories with her friends, specifically her girlfriends, with whom she is in touch now as well. That relationship is just the purest she can ever think of, and the memories rejuvenate her a lot.
Nafeesa believes that education and experience both have their advantages, but the amalgamation of both produces the best result.
According to Nafeesa, no one is born a leader; one can become a leader through constant practice and with an attitude of cooperation and helping others.
