Mumtaz Shaikh is a transformational coach and author from Mumbai. She spent fourteen years working for corporations before deciding to pursue coaching in an effort to discover who she truly is.
Describing her journey, Mumtaz says that she chose the arts stream in school because she was interested in speaking, writing, and articulation. She recalls a time in school when she tried to get over stage fright and lost her train of thought. However, she eventually discovered a love for speaking thanks to the inspiration and support of one of her teachers.
Mumtaj says that as a result of her communications skills; she achieved good growth in her corporate career. At the age of twenty-four, she already owned a house and a car.
The COVID period gave her the opportunity to reflect on herself and the thirteen years of her journey. She made the decision to start writing after being inspired by the renowned life coach Arfeen Khan. In just three months, she was able to finish writing and published her book.
When asked about her challenges, Mumtaz says once she went through a period of anxiety and sleepless nights. She helped herself to come out of the situation, and then she found all her answers within. She started reading and researching about the transformation field.
Speaking about her accomplishments, Mumtaz says she feels accomplished when she receives her clients’ messages thanking her for making their lives better. She also considers recovery from her anxiety in three months to be a success.
When asked whether she is a born leader or whether experience made her one, Mumtaz says she was the youngest in a family where everything was predetermined for her. When she entered the corporate world, she was more like a manager, but her failures made her learn leadership skills. She also wrote a book on leadership.
If she gets a chance to go back in time via a time machine and change something, Mumtaz says she will take all the risks and follow her heart.
Mumtaz's success mantra is that no matter what happens to you, there is always a chance to improve things and become a better version of yourself.
When asked what keeps her excited and motivated, Mumtaz says that every single day is an opportunity for everyone, and this keeps her motivated.
Mumtaz suggests people who are struggling with their anxiety problems to believe in themselves and reach out to someone for help.
In her leisure time, Mumtaz likes to dance and play with her daughter.
Mumtaz discusses her book, "Success Coach," and says that through her book, she has tried to convince the readers that they should connect with their team members one-on-one as leaders.
